10 years ago I have to go to Japan to get them DC (I refuse to call it "Case Closed") merchandises. Sometimes I even asked my colleagues to send me some. I even worked my butt off for 3 months just to go to Conan town to see Edogawa Conan being enshrined in various places in the town.
Nowadays every hipster kids talks about it, even some silly girl who thinks she's #1 "Case Closed" fan just because she got those chinese-made stationery set with "Conan" on it or having "Conan" as her cheap android phone wallpaper. Globalization, I suppose.

If anyone is new to the series, let me warn you: The filler is atrocious. The mysteries they use for filler range from mediocre to unbelievably horrible.
In the first season alone, there is an episode where the victim is killed due to thermal shock after the killer programs his air conditioner to rapidly alternate heat and cold. And no one questions it.

Only the filler is bad, and I usually skip it. The manga adapted cases are almost invariably clever and fun. It's the reason I'm still watching.
Oh, also, if anyone is starting the series: watch the "filler" case with the bullet train bombing in season 1. It's listed as filler, but it's actually a manga case modified to remove references to the Black Organization.
