Not that guy but I think it's starting to be pretty much harem. In the earlier volumes, it was only Yui that we knew liked 8man. Now we have Yui, Yukino, Kawasaki, possibly Iroha, and if we stretch it, Sensei and Haruno.
Not that I don't think that's bad considering we get characterization and development for most of the characters.
If anything, I kind of want to see 8man get thrown into harem situations considering he's always been the cynical loner that hasn't ever really aimed for a relationship since his middle school days. He pretty much thinks no girl would ever like him and I kind of want to see a setup of where a guy has a harem in which he thinks nobody would ever like him not because he's dense, but because he's aware of his own character and is self-deprecating.
If the recent volume is anything to go by, I believe 8man would be a dense harem protagonist. He doesn't know why Yui and Yukino all of a sudden drop what they're doing to help him when Iroha asks him to help her. He doesn't notice why Kawasaki is flustered with him. He thinks Iroha calling him senpai is a negative connotation because she doesn't know his name.

A harem is traditionally more about the girls flocking to the main character, not gradually being won over by his insane persistence and personality.
A harem series is also more often about the girls while we have a generic nice guy who the viewer can self insert to, whereas 8man is very much his own, and unique character, and forcibly keeps people at arms length.
It's not even a "so cool, and dark and mysterious" it's more of a very sad and bitter young man.
I mean yeah, there are a couple of girls who are interested in him, but there's no real heavy focus on it. It's part of a larger story. 8man's story, and his journey to adulthood.
