Hey man, Basuke is fun to watch. I guess I like the intensity and seriousness of the matches. I haven't watched any other sports anime, and I think the only sports manga I read was Prince of Tennis and Eyeshield 21 back in the day.

A lot better. Despite the dated direction, animation and slow pacing around episodes 20 - 30, it is really involving and fun to watch. It doesn't rely on pretty visuals and named powermoves, and is a bit more realistic in how the basketball is played compared to KNB.
It also builds up the characters a lot better, with a lot of the side characters being explored and the MC developing as he gets more into basketball, though very slowly. The last few matches the Shohoku team played were really good, butt-cheek clenching stuff, and I teared up and almost cried at the end of both of them. Great openings and endings too. I've heard the manga is a lot better though, so you might want to check that out instead. I watched it after I watched the first two seasons of KNB and I still loved it, so you might enjoy it as well.

I don't know about Oofuri and Ace of Diamond since the only baseball anime I've seen is the entire Major series which was really good. You can't really compare Haikyuu and Slam Dunk though, though they're both incredibly enjoyable. Just watch all of these shows when you have time, it's worth it.
