I think Kureha forgot about Ginko somehow, as shown in the last episode, which made Reia realize there was something greater going on. Reia, being an awesome mom, probably wanted to protect Kureha and Ginko from whatever force was trying to get rid of Ginko. Reia probably sent Ginko beyond the wall for her protection.
Also, Heel Clicking Guy is probably coming back and maybe he's behind the memory wipe.

I would guess that whatever happened between Sumika and Ginko could possibly be the missing piece in that timeline. "Ginko was Sumika's . . ."

None of those really seem to make perfect sense though. It's so frustrating having to watch this show as it airs. Ikuhara shows are best viewed as a marathon I think, or at least in chunks of a few episodes at a time. Waiting is suffering.
I'm sure the master will come out with some unexpected twists though. He's got four episodes left, anything could happen.
Also, I'm super curious to see what Ginko means when she says once the Promise Kiss is given "everything will awaken, and everything will change." It's been repeated twice now, once a few episodes ago, and once as a flashback this week on the roof as Kureha was about to shoot her.
