No, you don't need to watch it.
It's just a rehash of the same material with some extended footage (Director's Cut).
As long as you watch the Director's Cut version of the TV series (2D4U on nyaa for example) and End of Evangelion, you'll miss nothing.
Then you might want to watch Rebuild (a movie series reboot with a different storyline), but whether you'll like it is only something you can decide.
