Mr. Art Major here relies on a flawed argument. He's basically saying, "A lot of anime have big eyes, crazy hair, etc., and if you break from that mold, it's no longer anime!" The faggot created his own definition of what anime is ("confined by the normal standard anime style"), cries that you can only make limited variations that fit the definition, then excludes those that do not fit his definition because "it won't look like anime anymore!" Using his definition, Ping Pong isn't anime, which is wrong.
The fact is, anime is just Japanese animation. Ping Pong is anime, Lucky Star is anime, Sword Art Online is anime. It's not an art style with a predefined set of traits, it's an industry. What he calls "anime art style" is merely one style that has become popular among the Japanese. If anything, he should blame the Japanese market for the popularity of a particular style.

I'm a french artist student, and I can say teachers are quite the dick about anything manga related for no reason. I usually get the remark "manga looking" when I have a style that is far from what we can usually see, besides being in the top students of my nude drawings class.
