Man, the way they set this up in the end really got me worked up, and I would have really enjoyed a second season.

How were its sales in the end? I know it wasn't to the hottest start, but… maybe there can still be a season? It can go some really great and fun places in a season set in America. Also, TYPE-MOON.

Roughly 2.6k units. From what I've been told, that's pretty low.
Chaika still made less than that though, even if you combine sales of both series. Hell, looking at the data, that's the case with plenty of things, making under 3.5.k and still getting a sequel.
I suppose money has to be in place prior to it actually getting a second sequel, and they didn't expect this to be a cash cow.
I'm also not sure how merch factors into the decision, but from what I've heard it didn't have a lot of figma or such.
Such a shame, it would have been really cool. At least one of the manga is still ongoing.

And as for the merch I mentioned, there is a lot of it (175 items on one site I looked at), whereas something like Chaika has 120 items.
I'm no buyfriend though, so I can't tell you if that is a whole lot in the grand scheme of things, but compared to other series with similar-ish sales, it certainly has more merch at least.
Whether that is selling is another matter.

Zvedzda had decent characters and premise but it could have used more of them trying to take over the world.
