Did /a/ like this? I wasn't really fond of the fantasy direction it took halfway through and the ending episodes were cheesy as fuck. The first half was really good and then it dropped it all for some half-assed fascist plot and magical blondes.

Fair enough. Then I watched this show expecting the wrong things apparently. Still, I couldn't help but notice how the show went the route of Battlestar Galactica, suspenseful first half and a more fantasy and spread-out second half. I still liked the show but I can't help but be dissapointed that it didn't retain the style of the first half.
