Eggs literally lead a perfect life and his only major tragedy was being shot in the head, after which gaining aldnoah powers and keeping all his memories/prior knowledge

Eggs lacks parents and i believe it's implied he and his sister moved to Japan, they weren't born there. It's assumable that his parents probably died in something involving heavens fall/the martians. That combined with the fact he grew up in a time with the threat of war constantly around hardly makes for a "perfect life".
