What novels would you like to see turned into anime?
meh
The Virgin Suicides
Probably considered pleb tier or something but I don't care.
>>119592312
Moby Dick. Dat edge.
The Malazan book of the fallen. There's no way something that long would happen in theaters, andI can't imagine a live action show lasting ten seasons or getting the needed budget. Thus, anime would be the thing most likely to do the series justice if somestudio lost its mind and took the gamble.
With my luck, though, Rake would get forced into a more prominent role beyond just the books he's in because he'd turn into the resident broody bishonen.
For fans of Oreimo and Yosuga no Sora.
>>119593590
YES
>>119593403
This.
Done right it could be amazing.
The live-action show fucking sucks. You can't make a faithful adaption without proper narration and setting that anime can do.
>>119593791
But.
'Left hand of darkness' by U. Le Guin
i suppose it would even sell because omnipandering
Harry Potter
Something Wicked This Way Comes would be really easy to fuck up but if they pulled it off would be better than most horror anime out there, while also having that comfy boyhood thing going for it.
I have silly thoughts about writing a novel that gains enough popularity to get an anime.
>>119592312
Nightside series
>>119592312
Felix Castor sounds awesome
>>119593928
>/a/
>Have something popular enough to get an anime
Pick one, pal.
>>119593928
Write a shitty LN and get a Jap to be your front man.
>anime offers endless possibilities of visual storytelling
>still the same shit of party of five save the world plots rehashed over and over again
Fuck this. What a waste of a medium.
>>119594012
You mean harem? It's more than 50% of shows that come out each season.
>>119594065
Otakus ruined anime.
>>119594006
Or just learn moon then write a shitty LN.That's what i'm doing right now.
>>119594064
Never heard of those.
Don Quixote would make a pretty good anime comedy series
>>119594012
>Implying anime studios spend tons of money making anime for the art, not for more money.
>>119593713
"One Hundred Years of Solitude"
Sounds like the title of Anon's autobiography...
>>119594084
>Try to learn moon a number of times
>Don't actually like the language itself, makes learning unfun
>Learning Latin instead
I dunno, man. Kinda pointless, but at least Latin is fun.
>>119594065
>It's more than 50% of shows that come out each season.
Yeah, sure.
>>119593965
Directed by Ikuhara.
>>119594093
But anon, what isChuunibyou Demo Koi Ga Shitai?
>>119594107
If people bought less of shitty anime, we wouldn't be in this mess. The problem when an anime focuses solely on one niche alone is that the medium quickly stagnates.
>>119594146
With Sawano's music and script by Okada.
>>119594127
Agreed. Almost everything in Latin sounds fucking cool as shit.
>>119594157
I enjoy reading this so far. I really miss anime space operas.
>>119594128
Do the counting yourself.
>>119593622
This. Alternatively, The Black Company.
>>119594204
Is there a single anime space opera besides LoGH?
Do Space Brothers and Planetes count?
>>119594194
There's also a fuckton of words still in use today that have Latin roots, or are just straight up Latin. Having knowledge of this junk is kinda nice.
>>119592312
>>119592312
>>119594261Mass Effect
>>119594233
Five harems this season out of more than thirty series. Get over yourself.
>>119594261
Toward the Terra.
Glass fleet.
Captain Harlock.
Space battleship Yamato.
And many more. Search, anon, search.
>>119594285
Too slow man.
>boarding school

holy shit cmon boys.
What do you think about wheel of time anime?
>>119592312
WH40K.
By madhouse.
Discworld. Actually - scratch that.
Discworld meets Hitchhiker's Guide. Fuck me, I'm willing to rob a bank for that shit.
>>119594342
I also forgot immense despair
>>119592312
>>119594261
Of course. Terre he, Tytania and Seikai no Senki series among others.
>>119594377
>British/American lol so randumb humor
>>119594343
doesn't have to specifically be anime, just animated. the series is way too big to be done well as live action unless it had a GoT type budget and even then there's too much actual magic that would require lots of CGI.
but with animation all that wouldn't matter, 24 episode seasons could easily summarise each book, if not more, there is a ton of filler and dicking around that could be chopped out and cut down.
>>119594488
But anon, what isOregairu
>>119594488
>>119594495
>someone posted the same thing as me at the same time
Wow...
moot..
archimonde this.
>>119594488
would have to include more imouto incest
>>119594488
>>119594495
came here to post this.
Though I think they would fuck up the scene in the park with the sister by adding incest overtones.
>>119594413
>Discworld
>randumb humor
What?
>>119593590
It's pretty much anime already, especially the second volume
>cripple waif
>blonde klutz big boobed princess
>harem situation
>MILF airship lady
>Gay child rapist and his band of shota
>>119594488
I laughed.
>>119594582
He didn't read it.
>>119594521
>>119593713
Ah yes, nothing pleases the incest crowd more than a thrilling allegory about the industrialization of central america
>>119594615
Just looking at the cover illustrations and the mentions to shit and piss in the titles is enough.
I'd want it to only contain cute girls though, imagining them all huddled together in fear as a destroyer passes over head waiting to depth charge them would be priceless.
>>119594688
What are you talking about?
>>119594194
Latin is mexicants, right? Last I check there is nothing cool about mexicants.
It's got comedy, it's got seriousness, it's got animals.
What else do you need?
>>119594342
>mfw started reading the book and thought it was pure boredom
>tfw ending made me cry
>>119594964
>tfw I really liked the film version of The Golden Compass but it didn't do well enough to warrant a sequel
>>119595060
>Not enjoying the schoolgirl SoL
>>119594262
>There's also a fuckton of words still in use today that have Latin roots, or are just straight up Latin.
Were you born yesterday?
Those novels that take place in a super futuristic society where scarcity doesn't exist; I forget what they're called, but that would make a great anime.
Lord of the Rings, just because I want to see animated orc battles and such.
Harry Potter because I want to see what Japan would do with it.
>>119594093
Was just thinking that.
>>119595080
Also this.
>>119595081
The movie ended at a weird point too.How were they supposed to start the next movie with her father's dick move? It works best as a shocker Empire-Strikes-Back-style ending.
>>119595178
>Those novels that take place in a super futuristic society where scarcity doesn't exist; I forget what they're called, but that would make a great anime.
Gonna have to narrow that down a bit.
Neuromancer
The Nightwatch and Witches Discworld books and some Wizard SoL
The Dresden Files
Divergence
Deltora Quest except done good
Forever War
Weyrs of Pern
>>119595320
I think the author was Scottish
I got into reverse traps early.
>>119595274
>Dragonsong's title cut off
Why did I choose that pic?
>>119595429
>Iain M. Banks is Scottish
Huh. The Culture was my first guess, too. Maybe it didn't need that much narrowing after all.
