I'm wondering how the "vampires don't reflect" thing works now. Obviously the sun light hits his body and he has a shadow. This means on the physics side, he is still normal. But then the reflection part, which is fundamentally the same principle as seeing him/having shadows, is broken. Is the physics in Araragi universe broken or did the writer not know about physics?

I'm ignoring the fanservice-y parts in both deliberately because I know I can't contain my bias and I'll just give all my points to Hanamonogatari. So I have to remove them to get a better look at the other things they did, like overall impact on the world.

Tsukimonogatari expanded the Exorcists for us who have been an integral part of the series as a whole from both the foreground and behind the scenes.
It was also Yozuru's Koimonogatari. That story which gave us another way to view her. True, it didn't go in as far as Koi did into Kaiki's thoughts but it gave us a clearer view of how nice she can be without losing sight of her job as solidified with her proclamation to Araragi that "I don't use my powers on humans".
To Yozuru, while she's self-righteous, she is still self-aware enough to at least keep normal humans out of it.
Tsuki was the booster shot Yozuru needed.

There is no English equivalent. They are special magic creatures of Buddhist and Shinto origin respectively. There is no way to translate without cliff-notes.

tsukumogami is Buddist in origin, changing its meaning over time but in general relate to the idea that really old inanimate objects, usually made by humans, can become alive and sentient. Many Japanese monsters are tsukumogami, with the classic one being an umbrella with one eye and long tongue.

Shikigami is Shinto, and is a type of magic servant created by Onmyojis, Japanese Sorcerers. Shikigami are inanimate objects deliberately infused with sous via magic and become servants. The traditional portrayal is of origami humanoids made of paper, as you saw near the end of the show.

Try to explain these two terms via translation alone is impossible.

Great scene. Shinobu was so fucking cute throughout. Tsukihi and Youtsugi-chan were also very adorable. Great overall.

Not much going on as far as really important or interesting plot, and the animation was hit or miss, great sometimes, and a little lazy in other places, (but that's SHAFT for you, and I love them anyway,) but all the girls were cute, Kagenui was badass and elegant as usual, and good God DAT FANSERVICE was just fucking choice.

Monogatari world works via human belief. Reality changes depending on human culture.

In real life, the reflect myth came from the fact that mirrors were once coated with silver, and silver is anti-evil. Also there is another interpretation of saying the mirror shows the soul, and that vampire don't have souls.

None of that matters in Monogatari though, as their rules are very well defined; if enough humans believe in it, then it comes true. If people stop believing, or change their belief, the truth becomes undone and evolve to something else.
