It's pretty great man. Just don't go in expecting Ace Combat, especially Electrosphere, because it's not.
Some of the stuff like the mini stories can be pretty cringe worthy fanfic tier, but the gameplay is quite good already and steadily improving.
The AI is a bit here and there still. Usually you'll just end up in a turning contest with them and they don't seem to be trying to do anything else except get behind you, but sometimes you'll get some extremely intense and glorious high speed dogfights with them.
I've played AC:I a bit. It's going to take forever to unlock the good planes, though I am happy because you can get enough Stock Fuel from challenges that you don't need to buy from the PS Store.
What is absolutely bullshit is having to buy the offline missions. And they cost a ton.

Surprisingly, it felt like an AC game for me. The biggest issue I see really is how sometimes it takes forever to get a room, and how doing offline missions costs fuel all the same.
