Alright /a/ be honest. What was the first anime to ever make you cry, or even tear up?

Pic not r-related or anything

Angel Beats!
Hell I might give it a rewatch one of these days, now that I've attained level 20 in being a pro of animes
>>
Who knows, I cry a lot to anime but never in real life. Any anime with any kind feels will get me going. Even if it's not that good.
>>
Ino x Boku. I tear up at the anime's end everytime I watch it and have no idea why.

Haven't cried to an anime since I was a newfag at it, but the list for anime that's made me cry is decently sized and I can't remember which was the first.
Mirai Nikki, Clannad, Angel Beats!, Kanon, Little Busters!, K-On!, AnoHana, 5 Centimeters Per Second, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, Toradora!, White Album, & The Tatami Galaxy.
Ah, and the graduation episode of Hidamari Sketch for a more... recent example.

I'm a bit of a pussy I guess, oh well.

Hanmyo in Outlaw Star. It didn't make me cry, but it's as close as an anime has come, and I somberly dwelled on it for a few days. The nail in the coffin was how Jim himself had killed her, and he didn't even know it. I was only about 12 or 13 when I saw it. The episode is called "Cats and Girls and Spaceships."

>>
>>115832285

Same guy here. I forgot the other half of my post, where I was going to admit that while an anime hasn't made me cry, an anime-style vidya has.

Disgaea 1, the PSP version. Laharl's Mom as a Prinny was pretty sad, but the scene that did it for me, for some reason, was when Kurtis sacrificed himself to save Jennifer. Something about how the way he was inspired by Gordon's words since, as a kid, he had looked up to him really made my bro-tears flow. Gordon may have been a laughable 40 year old wash-up by then, but he still believed in doing good, and his simple desire to do good had saved a soul. Combine that with Tenpei Sato's brilliant song, "Tomo Yo" going full blast in the background, and the possibility that maybe the Laharl's Mom chapter had softened me up, and when Gordon told Kurtis he was the 38th Defender of Earth, I lost it.

Am I the only one that didn't cry to Clannad? I played the VN and Tomoya's decision to take his daughter out in the cold was too retarded to take seriously and made it hard to sympathize. Air and Little Busters make better drama than Clannad VN wise, though the Clannad anime shits all over them in animation.

I thought that was always a joke or trolling until I finished the VN, you can't seriously cry at retarded decisions done on purpose.

The whole graduation ceremony sequence was pretty touching, same with Hidamari Sketch.

Though I still can't believe Yomi was the last one to get accepted into university.

Ive cried to far more shows than ones I havent too.

Ending of the last episode of MM! is just so touching. I welled up but didn't really cry. Closest I've come though

I haven't really cried but I have gotten extremely sad. I think the first anime to do that to me was FMA. The Nina chimera and Hugh's death.

Doraemon, the movie ones. I don't know, but it felt really good compared to every chinese cartoon I ever watch. There's something about children show that turned serious that gets my feelings.

Like Clanad, Angel beats, Ino x Boku, DBZ, Lamune, Pokemon, Cowboy Bebop, Elfen lied, even the recent chinese cartoon this season, never do I feel anyhting that rips up my heart never.

But Doraemon, man. I don't even like Doraemon that much as kids, but the movie one really right in the feels. They're not about love for the girl tragedy and bullshit and stuff, just a common family love that really great.

It was fucking great.
>>
>>115832406
I couldnt ever get worked up, maybe because I wasn't just watching it but also playing? Disgaea 1 is the best one

Angel beats fucked me up at the part where the guy promised that if they met again he would take care of her

I haven't seen it in so long but it always makes me tear up when thinking about it
>>
>>115833576

Yeah the Anime didn't make me cry at all. Only the game; which was my first experience with Disgaea. I saw the anime after the game and it didn't compare, although the Maharl chapter in the anime was a little bit interesting.

In fact for me, the Disgaea anime flopped on most of the drama, since it was usually too rushed. They really needed 25~26 episodes, and they only had 12.

And only the PSP version gets me worked up, since it has a combination of more and better dialogue than the PS2 version, -and- the original Japanese music with lyrics included. Looking back I figure it probably made all the difference that the PSP version happened to be the first I ever played.
>>
>>115833755
I think the anime was just a test to see if it would've been good for a series and a game, Its pretty much a joke compared to the game.
>>
>>115832661
Are you me? I used to watch that movie twice a day at times, before and after school, whenever i had time. I knew every line. Watched it last year and I still knew most parts and found myself tearing up at the stupidest fucking shit like Tai at the computer.
