There, Holo helps the town deal with an issue regarding their Wheat supply that has been supposedly poisoned. It's not really interesting -- there's no economics really.

Town of Strife I & II would probably be the entire 3rd season of Spice and Wolf (If there ever is a 3rd season) so here's a brief overview of it:

After Eve Bolan swindled Lawrence in Lenos, Holo and Lawrence decide to chase Eve up the Roam river. They charter a cargo boat that's going in her direction (toward Kerube, down the river toward the ocean). While on the boat, they learn that this boat is transporting copper coins, however, ship logs indicated that while 60 copper coin crates enter Kerube, only 57 leave. They suspect it's nothing too important, but they keep the documents proving that the Jean Company (trading guild) in Kerube maybe is doing something shady.

Lawrence and Holo decide to use Holo's wolf form and run the rest of the way to Kerube. LN 6 concludes with them just outside Kerube, where they've beaten Eve Bolan to the punch.

Holo and Lawrence, while interesting in confronting Eve, are also looking for supposed "Wolf Remains" that may give details to what happened to Holo's homeland. As it turns out, Eve is familiar with a legend regarding some remains, and tells them to head to a trading guild in Kerube for more information: The Jean Company. Lawrence and Eve temporarily bury the hatchet.
Meanwhile, the town of Kerube is locked in a trading dispute. Kerube sits on a river delta, and the northern landowners have taken massive loans from the southern landowners in order to construct a market place directly on the delta, between the north and south sides. This originally was good, because the south wanted the north to be successful, so that they could pay back the loans, and the north wanted the south to be successful so they could use their marketplace (and make more money).
As it turns out, Eve Bolan has been assigned with creating a solution to this problem. The only reason she stole furs from Lawrence, was because she needed at least some capital to get started. If Eve cannot solve this problem, she'll be killed (she's fallen nobility -- she didn't really have a choice but to work for the northerners).
Finally, a "mythical creature" is said to have been brought into town, and the church moves to destroy it. (rumor).

Interested in this "mythical creature", Lawrence and Holo move to learn more about it. He goes to his own trading guild branch, The Rowen Trading guild in Kerube, to learn more. While there, he lets slip that he personally knows Eve, and they're both... immediately the head of The Rowen Guild's branch, Lud Kieman, gives Lawrence a guild order to betray Eve. If he doesn't, he'll be betraying his own guild and they'll disown him. Meanwhile, the pressure builds on Eve to solve this trade dispute between the north and south over payment for the construction of the delta marketplace, if she doesn't, she'll be killed (or sold into sex slavery, it's hinted at). If Lawrence betrays Eve, his guild will profit greatly, if Lawrence ignores his guild's order, he'll be disowned by his guild.
Before Lawrence and figure out what to do, rumor is confirmed: the church has a "mythical creature" who is said to posses the ability of "eternal life" -- it's being held captive at the church in Kerube. The trading dispute is put temporarily on hold while the towns interests momentarily shift to this creature the church is holding captive.
But, while the town's interest maybe shifted, the trading guilds and the nobility in Kerube are still focused: learn more about the "mythical creature" but also attempt to profit from the (seemingly) inevitable collapse of the delta marketplace, and the possibility that the southerns will take total control of if.

Lawrence and Holo learn from the Jean Company's head that, indeed, the stories of the legendary "wolf remains" are likely true. Additionally, the remains probably originated from Holo's home kingdom of Ploaina.
Lawrence is approached by Eve Bolan, who claims that if Lawrence works with her (and betrays his guild), they can both profit greatly over this trading dispute and the confusion swirling around the "mythical creature". Later that same day, Lawrence is given (via a messenger) notice from his guild (The Rowen Trading Guild), that negotiations will soon begin to straighten out this whole mess between the north and the south, and he must act as a messenger between Eve Bolan and the northerners. This appears on the surface to be... well... a reasonable request. He agrees.
Negotiations begin, and Lawrence spends the entire day shuttling messages between his Guild and Eve (who is, for reasons to be explained later, in hiding). Lawrence is initially confused, because Eve appears to be writing many messages, but he appears to be the only one shuttling any of the documents piling high in her room.
Negotiations end for the first day -- no progress is made. Lawrence is confused both with the "mythical creature" the churce is supposedly imprisoning, but also with Eve. Who was Eve writing all those documents to? While walking back to his Inn, he has an epiphany. The Jean Company -- that Eve Bolan knows personally -- all the letters, the crates of missing coins, and why Eve was hiding. Before he can tell Holo (and his Guild, if he wants to) Eve approaches Lawrence completely out of breath. Eve hands Lawrence a letter, but then she's thrown to the ground and stabbed. Lud Kieman (head of Rowen guild) appears, takes the letter, and thanks Lawrence for his service. Before Eve's body is taken away, she tells Lawrence to flee -- it will only get worse.

Honestly, it should get boring for anyone. No matter what else I watch, if I know how it goes or can predict how it'll go, then I'm not interested.
But I'm just an ultra sap for medieval settings/atmosphere (either accurate or romanticized) and the dialogue's fun to listen to when I'm drinking. I can't watch it too often, though, and I usually watch it by the arch. It has to of been long enough for me not to remember everything line-by-line...

Every time Lawrence fucks up with Holo, doesn't understand what she's doing, not sitting down and talking out a plan with her and just doing it on his own I just start getting infuriated. Jesus FUCK COME ON YOU HAVE A GODDESS IN YOUR LAP AND YOU GO AND FUCKING SELL HER OR SOME SHIT
