Inability to rename galleries is a dealbreaker. Words cannot express how much I like having descriptive titles, with convention, Romanji, English, comic source, etc. Most people are fucking awful at properly titling galleries, and I can fix that on sadpanda, but not this site.

From what I can see, ponyfag is either lying about his setup and hosting costs, or these are the result of a grossly grossly grossly inefficient system. Hosting static content is the most solved fucking problem in all of web development. e-hentai was created in 2005, and at the time I can see how making a botnet to mitigate costs would make sense because space/bandwidth was extremely expensive. in 2014 we have free CDNs and affordable servers with beastly specs.

Also, how are you uploading new content to the site? Is it done by a select group of users or will you be allowing anyone to upload? You said it was completely open so I assume it's the latter. If that's the case then you should add some form of quality control, maybe a report function. How you prevent this from being abused is kind of an issue though I guess.

I admit I don't know anything about DMCAs and whatnot. But I do know that there are some Western erotic artists who got their stuff off Ex, there were Japanese hentai artists who got their stuff of Ex, and ExHentai took preemptive measures to get rid of commercial non-H stuff off the site. I think it's plausible for Fakku to be able to get their own English releases off ExHentai.

Well, there's two issues. First, there's still the inconvenience factor where English translations from Wani won't be on Sad Panda. Second, scanlators might hop on board with Fakku to get a chance to translate stuff from Wani, which could really complicate things. Especially if Fakku does expand to other publishers.

Take the scenario where Fakku signs more publishers in addition to Wani.
There will be more uncensored 10k English releases outside of Japan, something no one has ever seen before. As their customer base grows all of the Japanese artists and publishers will make more money (up until now they have made nothing off of the milllions of people outside of Japan reading their work).
Eventually the audience outside of Japan will be larger than the audience inside Japan, and as the Japanese companies make more money they will publish more work, sign more artists, and use our input (via which content we purchase) will affect the things the Japanese artists publish.

I think it's safe to assume Fakku will try to get their own translations off ExHentai. I mean, I think Wani would not sit well with giving Fakku uncensored scans and letting them release English translations for them, only to have them be complicit in them being pirated.
And I think Jacob himself said he would pursue their own translations. So that's pretty certain.
As for the Japanese raws, I have no idea. On one hand I could see Wani entering into the deal expecting Fakku to pursue raws too, and/or not being satisfied with what Fakku's doing and demand more DMCAs. Overall, I think it's safe to say that it'll always be a possibility, and be on the whims of the publisher whether Fakku pursues raws or not.
Bottom line, best case scenario, Wani translations will be scattered around torrent sites, and if Fakku expands, that would just lead to more scattered English translations.
And that's a pain in the ass.
