I think that oreimo and usagi drop are two clear examples of incest used for the wrong reason. First oreimo they already established cleary that they're brother and sister and had a brother and sister relationship, they lived all their lives and never once hinted to the fact that there where romantic feelings here, and just suddenly they have of physical desire to be with each other? Horseshit! at least in yosuga no sora they showed one time when they kissed as kids establishing an emotional and confusing attraction. In oreimo it's basically the brother with no reason kisses his sister and thinks " oh my god I can't believe my sister is so fucking hot, i wanna start a relationship with her". Same goes for usagi drop, a father daughter relationship was already rooted yet, for some reason, they decide to turn it into a romantic one out of nowhere. They already had a good relationship. Why ruin that? Why? Because FUCK YOU that's why! It's like that thing I said earlier. Once you established the foundation of the relationship it's very hard to replace it, and usagi drop's credit Daikichi did have problems at first transitioning to the father daughter relationship that they had into a romantic relationship, in fact Daikichi said he wasn't really for it at first , but of course he gives into the attraction and the two of them become a couple. For me this is problematic because there have been years and years of development for the father daughter bond they established in the series and to just replace it almost easily with a romantic one is just a spit in the face on that developing father daughter bond. If there putting an incestual relationship in an anime for a character study, trying to understand and analyze the character's psyche as to why they're doing what they're doing and why they got into an incestual relationship. Then it's not entirely wrong from an unbiased perspective, but if they're just putting it in for the sake of incest,Then yea it's fucking stupid.
Usagi Drop isn't father-daughter incest or even incest at all. Rin would have been his aunt, if she weren't adopted.

Here's the thing, I will defend Oreimo in this instance because while it's not perfectly written it IS shown that at the very least Kyousuke is physically attracted to Kirino early on and Kirino her self was romantically attracted to Kyousuke. Kirino never got a chance to grow out of those feelings so they just kind of lingered.
Usagi Drop, while not actually incest, just kind of came out of nowhere though.
