So, if he wanted to kill Shirou, he could just project some drones armed with hellfires. And kill Shirou from far far away. Or any other master, they would never see it coming.
Or he could project a nuclear fusion bomb, and kill everybody.
Or he could project a black hole, and kill any opponent.
Or project anti-matter and destroy the universe.

I only watch anime, and don't have many time to read manga/LN/VN.
And the only think you guys say is "Archer is Shirou", but after watching 13 episodes I think the important part is to know why happened to him, not know who he is, because with all the hints it's already pretty obvious.
F/SN has some of the strongest worldbuilding foundation in all of Eastern fiction, and one of the most complex main characters.
Anyone who knows and appreciates the intricacies of the VN can explain everything in-detail. There is a lot of what makes good literature in F/SN - subtext, foreshadowing, allegory. UBW True is beautiful, as is Kotomine's character.
