Maybe it was just a weak season, but Death Parade dominated the competition. The only thing people liked more than the show was its OP.
It was also the season of the anime original, with Death Parade and RollingGirls snatching up almost all of the positive awards.
Megumi was especially impressive this season, as she managed to overcome the flawed and lazy tallying system to take both first and second place, no wonder Sanai's waifu wars were so intense.

Etotama may have only won a handful of AOTS votes, but it still managed to surprise everyone with 3DCG that didn't suck ass. Too bad the sales made this zombie franchise even more dead.
Nagato Yuki-chan wasn't the worst anime this season, but that didn't stop it from pissing Haruhifags off to no end.

/a/ sure loves trainwrecks. Charlotte, despite getting WAOTS and DOTS, still managed to garner the highest viewership this season and a sizeable number of votes in all other categories.
Rokka no Yuusha is the Strongest Surprise of the Season, either because it kicked its fantasy setting out in favor of Batman solving mysteries or because it was a LN adaptation that was actually faithful to the source right up to the hook for a sequel that we'll never see animated.
In stark contrast to the comfy OSTOTS, Papa Bones' loud electro won OP and ED OTS.
With Sakurada Akane, Kasuga Ayumu won over our hearts and our dicks with more flat, twintailed goodness. I'm sure the incest didn't hurt either.
