Defend what? They have an art school where they hand pick animators from. They are the only studio that pays their animators by monthly salary, and now-a-days adapt LNs they themselves publish.

I don't understand the Homeland at all. If the Homeland is organized enough to produce Generals like Sieg, why did they feel the need to send four child soldiers to claim the coordinate? Is the coordinate not important enough to warrant sending experienced warriors over children?
When pressuring Annie, Reiner said, "If you claim that you, and that father waiting for your return are different from this defiled race...", but he makes no mention of the mother. Is this indicative of political strife within the Homeland itself? Some kind of inequality between them? Is the reason the Homeland sent child soldiers is because the military power is already being exhausted, and they need the coordinate in order to solve the bigger problem?
