My guess is they eventually make it to the capital and Ikoma is inducted into the kabaneri secret society, there'll be a lot of political drama and the focus shifts from real people roughing it out against ridiculous odds with neat technology to Ikoma unlocking a million levels of super saiyan and becoming the chosen ones. I hope they never get off the train the atmospheric tension is half the appeal and once they exit the train it's gone.
