Some are more susceptible than others. Or have different common kinds of indicative behavior. Greys pick themselves, parakeets fixate on objects, some cockatoos act like maniacs for fun, birds are weird.
As an aside, my grey will turn his head sideways and pop his beak mimicking me, well, popping my neck. He'll also say good morning whenever I wake up. Then he'll do my yawn, and the dribbling of the coffee maker.
Parrots man.

Funny thing is, Erik wouldn't be such a shit-disturber if she didn't stand there giving him "drama-rewards" all the time when he does this stuff. I honestly wonder if she's enforcing it on purpose or if she really doesn't know how to treat a bird when it's being a cock-head. Could be either honestly.

My friend was looking after a parrot for a family member once. I was round his house and this parrot was being a noisy piece of shit. I decided to fuck with it a bit by staring at it and copying every noise it made as best I could. It started making increasingly complicated sounds for me to mimic, and whenever I tried to leave it would scream and scream until I came back and started copying it again.
>>
>>1060178
>AH!
>EH!

>>
>>1060767
I figure it's just more that birds, especially parrots, like to make noise. And they like to do crazy shit. And when their owners start having a giggle, they see it as positive reinforcement, because apparently birds interpret their owners making noise as positive reinforcement, no matter what their tone is

Aunt had a parrot that would simulate an entire phone conversation my grandma would have.

Would ring the phone, pick it up, say "uh-huh" a couple times, and then hang the phone up.

Would also sometimes just break into a hearty "fuck you!" and then hang up the phone loudly.

My grandma hated that bird.

>>
>>1063106
It is, actually
Cockatoos are very intelligent, the mental capabilities of parrots are vastly under appreciated. Which becomes a massive problem when owners looking to adopt simply don't know what they're getting themselves into.
Imagine a flying little asshole that has the mental capacity of basically a six year old, and can easily destroy anything in your house with their beaks.
Very lovable birds, but they require unending patience.

one last tip, make sure your filename (of the source video, not per-se the output) includes the source of the video, a youtube video title, or whatever else. That webm converter automatically puts the original filename in the file so when 4chan renames the files, the source (original title) isn't lost, and then people don't need to ask for source.

budgies are easy to take care of and pretty cuddly if you treat them right
even if you're out of the house most of the day, just get a pair of them, they'll keep each other company
it'll be harder to form a bond, but they'll still love you

Well, yes and no.
Compared to humans they pretty are dumb but compared to other birds they are very smart, they behave in stupid retarded ways sometimes because they find things intersting, just look at that bird, it found out that the sound comes out weird when it puts the cup to it´s beak.
It is experimenting and amusing itself, kinda like a human child. Surely they never get much smarter than that, but man, it´s a freaking so it is neat.

Just the best and smartest ones.
Smart animals feels emotions, just less complex ones.
Dumb animals don't, though.

On youtube this one guy misspelled superbowl and typed something along the lines of:
"Do you really think there will ever be anything great like the last superb owl?"
So naturally I said "That's a trick question....ALL owls are superb."

Now I walk around saying "All owls are superb." as a sort of in joke. Owls in all seriousness are pretty awesome.

Case in point:
