After completing the initial menu tutorial and picking a partner pokemon, pick Online Battle from the main menu / world map.
VS codes are basically passwords. Set the preferences to Anyone > Use Vs Code > vgptg

This. I keep hearing he's bad but when I see a Machamp I'm probably gonna lose. It's pretty much always Submission that gets me and then I'm on tilt for most of the match for some reason or another.

To answer the question: personally only been here since the /vp/ generals and so far have only really faced off against two people. Skill level I'd say I'm about average. Know the theory, don't practice enough to pull it off in most cases.I'm typically a /m/an when I visit 4chan if at all, but Pokken made me wander back here for the first time in a few years to see if there was a general for it. General's decent. Rest of the board is as awful as I remember.
