For me it's just getting killed for some bullshit reason. I'll be doing fine then I'll happen to walk into a room with a Ledian who will kill my entire team before I can even get near it. That and monster house/group fights where they get each other to top speed and obscene stat changing and then abuse multiple-hit moves (one of the most broken aspects of PMD if you ask me). Gates is pretty polished for what it is, but since it was being developed under a heavy time crunch, a lot of features were stripped out to meet the release date. There's some cool things like building up your base and all, but the dungeon-crawling itself is pretty sparse.
Super, on the other hand, is a bit more like the other games... but just like Gates, it was developed under a heavy time constraint, and since they didn't strip things out this time, Super feels really unpolished by comparison to any of the other games. It's still arguably better than Gates because it's got more to it, but it's still unpolished regardless.

Time has a way of correcting itself. Certain events in time are meant to happen. May it be emotional of physical. Altering the timeline, the time which has already been set in stone, caused a paradox
It is rooted in time that Espanon would rule at a certain period in time. With Lucario and Umbreon defeating Espanon earlier, time is now correcting itself. think of it like bringing back a loved one from the dead by preventing their death. A small thing like that can alter reality and time itself, thus creating a paradox
This paradox was what was responsible for Absol's death. Espanon was meant to be defeated, but not so early. With them defeating her earlier, Absol's love for her was much greater than it was during "Queen Espanon's" rule in the future.
Time is delicate. A small detail altered in the smallest way can have tremendous repercussions
