You know why Gengar sucks right? You have to deal damage and attack which requires separate lines of Pokemon. With this theoretical BREAK Toad/Bats becomes insanely powerful since a banded Toad does 50 and the bats do 50. So you're item locking and setting up future kills for just a DCE and a few psychic energy. And you have AZ and SSU nonsense. Hell Brigette may even work in the deck.

It's an incredibly situational attack on a stage 3 pokemon. I honestly feel like it could cost [C] and not be OP at all, MAYBE if it could knock out benched pokemon I could see increasing it to [P]. You have to remember, it takes 4 whole turns to set it up for one knock out, that's pretty much like setting up a [P][P][P][P] attack on a basic pokemon.

It's pretty fuckin dank. The deck has draws that sometimes just lose to Enhanced Hammer (if you can't set up a Flareon, can't draw Blacksmith, and/or don't have the fire Energy in the first place), but it's more resilient than you'd expect.
It's less memetastic than something like Typhlosion or Entei, but it's still definitely a meme deck.

Shaymin is always a good choice, not necessarily necessary with your amount of draw power.
Burning Energy being hammer bait is a meme since it's as much hammer bait as Double Colorless Energy. Just run 2 though, so you can run things like fiery torch and the stadium better. Remember though, they only have up to 4 enhanced hammers and maybe 4 crushing hammers. Any they waste on hitting a single fire energy is just time they're not spending on hitting DCE, which enables attacks with just a blacksmith.
Professor's Letter is a good card, so is energy retrieval. You can run float stones for switching since muscle bands won't really get you many extra KOs. 170 HP isn't common enough for that.

You can't playtest against nobody since AI is awful and doesn't let you play with new cards due to PTCGO, testing hand turns against nobody doesn't get you any practice against anything but your own starting hand luck, playtesting in real life requires knowing those combos before you even start playtesting.

Outside of the money element, you'd need to know how to actually play said deck. Which means you would've had to have already invested into it.
I play Fairy Gardevoir and want to invest in Night March. I'm gonna have to test my matchups with things like Toad and Manectric in addition to Fairy. So to test Night March against Manectric, I'm going to have to proxy out like 120 cards and already know the optimal plays for Manectric before I start learning the optimal plays for Night March.
It's kind of clearly a problem. If Yugiohpro existed for Pokemon, it would be less of a problem. But there's merit in youtube yugioh deck profiles too, since you're not gonna know every single shitty tech or combo play even if you play the deck 1000 times against AI.

There are a lot of LGS in my area due to my city is large, but the quality of the Pokemon stuff they carry varies a lot. The LGS I mentioned has packs, boxes, 3 pack blisters, and singles. However, their Pokemon singles are either
- EXs, Full Arts, and other singles that are $4 or more
- 25 cent binders (5 for a dollar, contains non holo rares and (un)common reverse holos. I was lucky enough to find a PHF Crobat and AOR VIleplumes in there one time)
- "Dollar Binder" that has cards ranged from 50 cents to $3 includes random assortment of trainers, holos, and reverse rares

Most people don't play Birch, and the few that do either have a niche deck or are biting the bullet because they can't make room for more Acro Bike, Trainers' Mail and Shaymin. Birch is unplayable trash right now because disadvantaging your self so much with a tails is basically auto-loss against a faster deck.
With Garbotoxin in the format, maybe, just maybe, the format will be slow enough that you can still survive with only four cards. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Not really, but it's a start. For a cookie-cutter Expanded Darkness deck you'll probably need more Dark Patch and especially some Yveltal-EX as well as babby Yveltal.
Then there's the other stuff like Shaymin-EX for draw power, Seismitoad-EX who also benefits from DCE, and Jirachi-EX if you intend to use Maxie's Hidden Ball Trick to get out Archeops and/or Breakthrough Gallade onto the bench. Otherwise you need to utilize Laserbank.

So I recently found my old trading cards, all in all about 2000-3000 cards sorted by series, ranging from Diamond and Pearl Series up to B&W Next Destinies.
