This new 'Premium Set' being announced might be some sort of indication as to when the new game will come out.
The release date for the set is July, and XY10 comes out in March. I think this Premium Set could be an EX Battle Boost version 2 to end the XY block.
Z block before the end of 2016? Not definitively, but very possible.

Okay, I'm thinking about mapping out the Gym cube. I think I will not balance it for types but for the gym leaders. But I'm still not sure about how many of the trainer cards I should put in. I know I want at least two of each stadium that synergizes with the gym leader pokémon so players can build around them.
Man the matchmaking is brutal. I play Wobbuffet to jerk over Shiftry decks and never see them, but when I play Shiftry to speed through the ladder all I fight are Baltoy decks and other Shiftry decks.
How can the matchmaking be that specific in a client this lazy?
I'm still not sure whether to like the holo alters or not.

Cards prior to Black and White were ordered by rarity, then alphabetically within rarity. Holos first, then non-holo rares, uncommons, commons, trainers (also ordered by rarity), ultra rares, and then secret rares after the end of the set, for example card no. 83/82.
Cards Black and White onward are ordered by type, then Pokedex order within type with evolution chains trumping Pokedex order. So a set with Electabuzz, Electivire, and Zapdos would be in the order I just said. Ultra rares are grouped normally, with Full Arts taking up the last few slots and secret rares still doing their thing.

After just going on a 5 game losing streak, against Noiverns and Night Marches, I've decided to just quit. The game itself is ungodly broken with cheap tactics which forces you to either conform to other cookie cutter decks, or accept that you'll lose a lot because you don't play the same things as everyone else. (Such as Shaymin, Noivern, Gengar, and Night March/Vespiqueen junk.)
I've only been playing for a little while, but I get no pleasure in playing this game. I take no satisfaction in the game even when I win. There's little reason, or reward, to actually play with what you enjoy because cheap tactics are easier and get you the same thing.

Getting ohkos and doing damage isn't the point of the game. Taking all six prizes is the point of the game. Teammates punishes players for just mindless OHKOing. And it's not like it's a surprise. It's almost always in the same decks and they even reveal it to you with Seeker.

I suggest Sableye/Garbodor, which is another expanded deck that is sort of the successor to Wailord atm, and also my personal favourite. Basically the idea is to abuse Sableye's junk hunt attack to pick up disruption cards like crushing hammers over and over and over again until they run out of energy and you deck them out. It's the best mill deck in the format right now and it can definitely top regionals. And if you're looking to be annoying, this will do the trick because when I play this at locals all the kids hate me and glare at me for the rest of the night afterwards. Lots of fun.
I could talk about this deck forever, but here's the build I use right now.

A lot of the standard decks have unconventional or annoying playstyles.
Night March is sending out 30 HP Joltiks who attack for 200 with a DCE. Toad is continuously hitting for 30 damage while not letting the opponent play items. Regice stops all damage from EXes if it hits for 70. Vespiquen is a Night March with 90 HP, but has to evolve. Rayquaza is rush to 240 damage turn 2.
It's really hard to argue what's conventional right now.

I don't think I understand Gallade/Yveltal being Tier 1. I can see Gallade/Hawlucha, with damage stacks making 130 into 170/190 with just the stadium and a band on, or 2 strong energy, the stadium, and a focus sash.
But the most that a Gallade can get in that deck is 150 and that doesn't seem to hit anything well besides things that are weak to it already and basics.
