Okay, so I'm making a rain team - that is, a team that enjoys having the rain for boosted Water-type moves and letting Scizor fuck over Fire-types. Currently, I have a Scizor and a Politoed as the core, along with a Heliolisk because fuck you, Heliolisk is awesome. Debating what to throw in for the rest - I have a Ferrothorn, a Rotom-W, and a Gastrodon that I could throw in, a Whimsicott that I could breed and throw in, and a fuckton of other things I could probably breed. This is not meant to be competitive faggotry, just something so that when people challenge me to battles, I can accept with something other than my in-game shitty team. Suggestions?

I would say Groudon, but I don't think you'll appreciate the humor. In all seriousness, try a Volcanorola. They're surprisingly good if you can get a moment's peace to set up a Quiver Dance, or even if you just hit them with a sun-boosted Firey Dance and get the boost.

The Egg Moves bit can be annoying, but if you just want a certain shiny and are prepared to take potluck on the IVs etc, you can dexnav about 1 every 90mins or so in my experience. I have caught nearly 200 or so now, mainly as gifts or just to pass the time when I'm bored of whatever my main target is.
I actually caught Kia a Cottonee a while back but it had 0 in hp so I just stuck it in my bank. Had 0/X/V/X/V/V IIRC. If anybody wants it just ask me. I think it was in a netball. No idea of nature.

Also my sync with legendaries is pretty close to 50%, but whenever I get a random nature it screws me over. Like my quiet Terrakion or my jolly Kyurem for instance

My last shiny legendary was Raikou, and the sync failed but it turned out neutral nature with Hp,Atk,Spd but a very viable Sp.Atk. I've had lucky drops on those to be honest, but I'm going for Kyurem next and I must be due a really stinking nature or a 0-5 in a key IV.
If you don't like the Ninetales, I will happily trade you something else? Or I don't mind catching you any ORAS available wild shiny. I appreciate the Dedenne because I very rarely actually require something and you sorted me out!

Well, kinda, but there's generally enough trouble trying to breed one good IV onto one Pokemon, let alone onto two, then breeding them together until you get two of opposite gender with those two IVs passed on, and so on and so forth. Basically, it's a major pain in the ass compared to "breed with a perfect Ditto and probably have at least one more IV than you did before, repeat until you have the right one." Besides, it's not as if you're injecting it for actual use in battles; it's just a tool, nothing worse than the Destiny Knot or Everstone from a certain point of view.

Just breed 7 hexaperfects males on one game and trade them to another. You can now breed every female gendered mon that isn't a legendary. Breeding the hexaperfects only takes about a week if you're willing to make the effort.

True, and I'm not denying this. If that's what you prefer, then go for it. I'm just saying that it's hard to get that "perfect compatible male" in the first place, and Ditto can take the place of any "perfect compatible male" and handle perfect females as well. I tried working without Ditto at one point. There is nothing so frustrating as finally, FINALLY breeding something with enough IVs to rebreed, and then seeing that little Mars symbol that means you have to just throw it away. And that's with a 50/50 ratio. Try breeding Eevee, or a starter. The odds of getting something competitive and rebreedable quickly vanish to less than 1%.

But anyway, let me just give you a bit of perspective since you can't think that breeding is hard right now if you've ever bred in a previous generation: Gamefreak made breeding so much easier this gen. We're talking a week's worth of breeding even in BW2 cut down to 2 hours now. They even made Dittos available with 2 31s guaranteed, or dex naving for IVs in ORAS. Also there were time when people didn't think that you had to have perfect IVs everywhere, for example.
It's just an odd time to be arguing that breeding should be easier, seems to me

Okay, that's fair enough, I suppose. I did only get into competitive Pokemon this generation anyway - the closest I got to "competitive" before consisted of Showdown , and even that was just random battles. I don't really care about balls, but I can concede that enough people do that it could be a thing. It's just that when you're trying to study for finals, time-saving measures are appreciated, and a perfect Ditto is undeniably one hell of a time-saving measure.

Again, a good point. I'm just a college student with finals coming up uncomfortably fast, and I'll be the first to admit that ADHD is not a good quality in someone trying to breed Pokemon. Also, what I mean is that I was breeding a 5IV Rotom with a 6IV Ditto. The Rotom was missing HP. I filled a box with Rotoms missing HP and another random stat, even though statistically there was a very low chance that the missing HP IV was passed on each time.
