Maybe I'm just too used to Rajang in 4U, and the fact I fought Blangonga inMHObut the only thing I thought fighting him in Generations was that they finally made his lunge an actual attack and not an animation that just doesn't matter.
I do admit to having missed Blangonga, and would have preferred he be in 4U over Congalala, but still he's a tad dull. At best, he's an upgrade over his Freedom Unite self where he previously had a useless attack, but I don't personally see the difficulty in the fight

I'm new to monster hunter and very confused in MHX. I'm mostly just using the Maccau set with Sword and Shield Stamina Oil, and the bone tabir. Does Stam Drain stack with this effectively? I seem to see monsters exhausted / drooling constantly.

I've gotten that far. It's hard to tell what all I can build / upgrade / what specific weapons in a category are good or worth building though, all the information is really difficult to parse.
Half the items and sets seem to need other materials I can't get yet or awkward to find, so I'm just sorta sitting still and not wanting to invest a buncha resource gathering time and materials into experimenting really.

It's an "almost" perfect fit. Like it will clip to the joystick all tight and shut wont come off unless you clip it off.
the joystick itself is still the weird "lean into direction" movement, but now you get perfect accuracy and grip over how it moves. Wouldn't want to live without it.
the cap costs a few cents, and the mod is done in a few minutes and quite reversible if you are unhappy. You should read it up, cannot recommend it more to MH.
Does anyone else not like this new upgrade system? I'm already in village 5 star and I'm still using the petrified weapon you literally start the game with. Sure it's level 4 now, but there is nothing better that I can make, and the other weapon I CAN make I can't upgrade because the first upgrade to level 2 takes materials only found in high rank zones.
I miss variety. Do I really have to upgrade shit to like level 2 and then side-grade it? I thought we could still make any weapon from base like before. Or if not any weapon at least a good amount.

I've found most of the new things positive and it seems they put a lot of work into giving us as many things to kill as possible. You'd have to look up the numbers yourself, though.

This has never been the case. There have always been weapons inaccessible through direct crafting.
The only difference is now instead of going

Right, but I could craft a fucking base Rathian weapon in the previous games.
In this one I cannot make a rathian weapon at all. I can only make it by first making a petrified, upgrading it to level 2, then side grading that to like maccao, and then I have to upgrade that t o 2, then I can FINALLY side grade to a fucking rathian weapon.
Which is literally impossible mind you because maccaos have like 5 hp; and their heads never break.
I'm really not a fan of this system because of this. I understand that sometimes you need a certain base material to unlock shit, IE you need like a rathian spike to make the faulds show up in the smithy or whatever, but I've killed 3 Rathians and there is still no BASE rathian weapon.

But that's wrong. It differs, yes, but certain Rathian weapons can be crafted from scratch, others cannot be. The Rathian Switch Axe and Gunlance can both be crafted from scratch, as an example. The Lagiacrus Switch Axe can be crafted from scratch, while the Lagiacrus Dual Blades are behind Ludroth and two Mizu claws (and they aren't even fucking worth crafting because Astalos, Thunderlord Zinogre and Rajang duals are all better options)
Similarly, the Rathalos Gunlance can be crafted from scratch, while the base for the Wyvern Conciliation duals (Twin Flames) sits behind Dual Hatchets level 2. This isn't even new to Generations, it's just more obvious because you have them listed now, once you reach the level where the branch unlocks

I think the cap/3ds model you use does make a difference. On my o3dsxl I have to glue it. On the n3ds not-xl it fit perfectly tight by default, never came off so far since months.
Did they reduce Khezu's head hitbox or something?
In MH4U and other previous games it was super fucking easy to just knock away on his head, but in MHG i often hit his "neck" instead.
Like, there's so many hits that i thought would hit his head but they just didn't.

He's only looking at one weapon. It's not a material thing, Dual Blades can't have the rath weapons crafted from scratch. Twin Flames starts after Dual Hatchets level 2.
As an example of another pair of fire dual blades locked behind previous crafts, Agnaktor's duals cannot be crafted from scratch and must come from Dual Piercers level 4

Is Tankmage a good choice for HBG? It can shoot Normal 2, All Pellet and crouch fire Pellet S 2 and Poison S 1.
Don't know how strong Pellet is compared to Normal 2 in MHX though.
As for LBGs i was looking at crafting Valkyrie Fire. It can Rapid Fire Pellet 1 and 2, but with Average wait.
I know LBGs are for elemental gunning but there's not really any decent choices until High Rank for that.

Ive played gunner weapons since 3rd gen started but im sick of worrying about all these silly zone wide one shot attacks (though im sure its not much better with blademaster). Whats a good melee weapon that is either support oriented or at least able to stick to enemies flopping all over the place? Was thinking lance, honking horn, or charge blade. My friends I play with main GS, SnS, and Switchaxe if that matters.
Is Bushido LS just a meme? Guild Style feels so much stronger to me.

I feel like im playing LBG wrong. I like using the Eldras gun that rapid fires crag. Im guessing this is weaker than a gun that rapid shoots Normal/Pierce/Element right?
