THIS is the endgame monster in Gen? Out of all four new flagships he has the worst shitboxes, and they make him the MHGen's Rajang? At least the ape had only one annoying attack with broken hitbox. Dino's whole fight is full of counter-intuitive lingering aoe hitboxes.

I don't think I ever got any in 4U, and now I have to gather 20 of them.
So I'm that fucking shitter from the last thread crying about cephadrome. Swapped to aerial cb and it was a lot more manageable. No carts and cut down time from almost running out to 20 mins w/o sonic or barrel bombs.
Still made a fuckload of mistakes but I think the aerial style might be my new favorite. Gotta try it out on other monsters.

Yes, they're handled better than previous scare quests. Zinogre's in P3rd was a shitty invasion after killing a Bulldrome and it really wasn't a worry. Tigrex, however, in FU was when the first thing you met once you encountered it was it charging at you and throwing snowballs. Lagiacrus was dull because it'd just leave if you did enough damage to it. 4U was better with its several Gore Magala encounters, though, but its Seregios intro was dumb.

I gave up on the intro quest because fuck fighting a health bloated mammoth with Kut-Ku duals when they'd drop below yellow sharpness in the time it took you to wound his leg. There something wrong with introductory monster hp values?
I just did the first iodrome quest using the lvl 4 petrified hammer, 100 attack and a good chunk of green sharpness.
Fight took 10m from start to finish and it was a non-stop head hitting romp of uppercuts or super pounds to the head after every move, only stopping once to sharpen.
It was a fucking drome, it shouldn't take that long.
I noticed this with tetsu, the first one seemed to have 2x the hp as the one in the capture mission.
Same with Great Maccao, the first one I fought took fucking forever with garbo weapon and then when I fight a random one in the next mission it's dead before it can leave the first area I find it in, no change in tactics or weapons or anything. It just had a shitload less hp.
Please tell me they aren't bloating the hp of a mon the first time you fight it because that'd be awful.

No, see that's exactly what it accomplished in being a homage. It is not Freedom, Freedom Unite or Portable 3rd, it's a game bringing back areas and villages people enjoyed in a modern generation. When you go through those villages, you're not doing their original stories. At most you get a reference to their scare quest (with the exception of Garuga's repel quest being completely forgotten so that the Kokoto Chief could talk about Rathalos)
Yet this doesn't bother your nostalgia. Nor does the fact Blangonga came back and can actually hit you now. You're complaining that the original themes are not in use and instead have "covers" as a tribute. It's a tribute, it doesn't have to be directly the same to perform its role. A tribute is to pay respect to something, not reuse it. Not even the three returning villages were truly reused, look at what you can't do there, the fact the chiefs don't give you quests anymore and so on. Hell, look at Trenya being just a cameo character.

Speaking of Aerial GS, does anyone actually use the finisher (A when you come down) because i feel as though it's way more effective to just keep spamming Vault + X, especially since you can cancel out of the animation so much earlier using a roll
