The listening in 4 was absolutely a gimmick. 4 had the shallowest gameplay of any of the games. The only "resource" was Music Box 2: Electric Boogaloo and relied entirely on whether or not you had your volume turned up high, because making a properly spooky atmosphere is hard but making people jump in surprise from hearing a loud noise is easy.

Phillip Harper is gruff, sounds older than he is, speaks a bit slower than most people, especially PunishedPhillip in Dust Bunny. Grunts and grumbles a lot. His natural hoarse voice masks any accent he might have.
Oracle sounds like a slightly more chipper GLADoS, speaks a bit faster as well, also prone to speaking over herself due to how quickly she processes information and draws new conclusions. No notable accent.
Dusty is wispy and soft spoken, almost androgynous in tone, like she's perpetually on the edge of fading away. She speaks fairly slowly in casual conversation, her mind often busy with thoughts of other times or new conclusions, she's more authoritative (albeit not by much) when business comes up. During casual conversation she occasionally slips into her Southern accent from when she was in the role of Spring Bonnie.
Toy Bonnie is very yearning, lively in his voice, like he's very excited in his core, but tries his best to hold a relaxed and calming demeanor. Manic might be the best term for it.
Cheryl Brooks has a sharp voice, grating when angry, but lively when on a subject she holds passion to. Her Irish heritage shows in her speech, and when she goes in a spiel it can be hard to understand her at times.
Jeremy Fitzgerald sounds like an ungrateful asshole.
Reject sounds loud and boisterous, when he's not skipping over his sentences he has a faint Brooklyn accent, a relic from his prerecorded lines as Toy Freddy. If a robot had a diaphragm, he's always be speaking through it, also jolly, obviously.

Bonnie's androgynous and measured. Usually with a hint of snark or other such condescension.
Chica is a Boston boid.
Foxy is rough pirate type. A lot similar to say, Barbossa in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
Mike has a simple midwestern voice. Quite generic.
Toy Freddy is a good ol' boy or southern gentleman. Speaks a bit slower and more relaxed.
Toy Bonnie sounds like something out of a 1940s film noir, complete with a stereotypical mobster accent, see? He drops the accent when he drops the act though.
Toy Chica sounds enthused, speaks quickly, and is a cross between a valley girl and an aerobics instructor usually but is mellow as fuck when off the clock.
Mangle's voice is buttery smooth and fair, like nothing could bother her. Except for her occasional outbursts which are a bit more shrill.
BB sounds like kid Anakin.
Puppet's voice changes on mood, because it's part of the mask. Can be masculine or feminine on a whim. Its real voice though is that of a small, weak sounding girl.
Topaz has a sultry seductress sorta voice. The kind that could be dripping with honey or poison at a moment's notice.
Goldie sounds exactly as I voice him.

That's not being autistic though, it's the number one rule for creating any fictional universe I picked up from DM'ing tabletop and use for all my stuff: How do characters eat, where can they bathe/use the restroom, what are the local landmarks, etc. Very important stuff for making a world that is somewhat believable. That's my goal above all else with the Ghostverse, beyond fap fuel or spooks, is to look at the world as a whole, and for someone to say, "Yeah, I see how people can live and exist in this world" There are some inconsistencies, I'm certain, but I try to iron them out as I see them. Because of this, I can see why my universe outside of spectacular events now and then, can seem kind of boring compared to other OCfag's though.

Extreme 100+ degree heat every day, wasps and spiders EVERYWHERE, many rude, spiteful people above me and below me. The only blessing was hour long lunch breaks. And not making much money I'd always run to Subway, get the 4 dollar lunch special every day, and watch Justice League in the back corner on my phone. It was the one part of my day I looked forward to till I started subbing and quit working the docks, so maybe there is more to it than just me being silly.
