Well I don't have that many so far, but Ike is fucking strong, he's really good so far, Oscar is really good too, and I don't normally use cavs all that often, Gatrie surprised me when he was able to double enemies as a Knight, but he hasn't been doing that as often lately, can still dish out a lot of damage. Well, correction, I tend not to use the christmas cavs but I'll use at least one in general. From what I remember, I used Frederick in Awakening, Frey in SD, Cecil in New Mystery, Seth in SS, but I don't think I used any in the Elibe games, or at least I don't remember. That said, I don't even think that Revelation's gameplay is that horrible. It has some stupidly tedious chapters, but it's worth for the full paralogues and cast.

There are a few units later on that come with pitiful stats yeah, but a majority are perfectly usable. Map design wise, a few at the beginning are pretty tedious but I found the rest of the maps after that to be fine, at least a step up from birthright.

Ah. Well for stuff like that you probably want the one with walls. You can put buildings in the gaps between the walls and then you're pretty solidly defended already. Put a tough pair-up on the throne and surround them with golems and automatons. Put your turrets near the walls to fuck up anyone outside them.
There's really no reason to have good defenses though. You get battle points win or lose and if the attacker wins they get a recruit or a skill that makes them more likely to revisit.

Think ahead several turns, ideally. (I try to predict one turn ahead) Try to predict what the enemy would do and go from there.
For example, turtling is a strategy involving luring out enemies and then ganging up on them. (I wouldn't rely on this all the time--Conquest can really punish you for relying on that if you're playing it)
the buttons that tell you the enemy range is your friend. Also looking at what your enemies have is good, especially what staves they have.

Yukimura is pretty much a non-character in my eyes. Only playable in Birthright, contributes nothing significant to any route. He could not exist and no one would notice a difference.

It's good to have a list of units you can rely on for any fight, but you're allowed to look at the map for a reason. Adapt your strategy to what's thrown at you.
For example: If there's a shitfucking ton of Archers on the map, leave your flying units at home. If there's tons of armored units, you're obviously going to want to bring some mages along.

She's pretty good as she is as a Memedona/Mememaster, however depending on if you are on Birthright or Revelations her A+ should change. Birthright she should buddy with Setsuna for an Archer/Sniper who can kill things hard. In Revelations she should buddy with Effie and become a Great Knight so that it patches up her HP and Defense and she benefits heavily from Luna/Armored Blow.
If you intend on marrying her, she would like either Spear Fighter/Ninja/Fighter for a good weaponlocked class. Or Outlaw for the utility.
Also she is a player phase only unit due to her fraility but once she gets going in terms of levels she is a Ryoma-lite and easily one of your better units.

Some extra things I think it would've been cool for Fates:
If Azura had a Dark Songstress class I'm Conquest where she can actually the dark version of her outfit
If Anna wasn't DLC and was the game's shopkeeper like other FE games. Depending on the route you choose there will be Hoshidan Annas and Nohrian Annas as your shopkeeper.

Kana only loses 5% speed growth with Xander as his dad. He has a respectable 50% speed growth in his base class which is coinflippy but serviceable. He does get more Strength and Def out of Xander being his dad which helps a lot.

What are good builds for Cordelia and Sumia?
On Cordelia I have Armsthrift, Galeforce, Sol and Im grinding Bowbreaker now. Need a final ability and that will determine which flying unit I use. I want her to be an aerial attacker but I dont wanna waste her strength.
On Sumia I want her to be a Falcon/Support unit so I have Galeforce, grinding for Luna and will probably use one of the self healing abilities.

I would have Azura have three branching promotions instead of having her level to 40.
Birthright would keep her in her default outfit in her promotion to Light Songstress and have her level 5 promoted skill be Voice of Peace and her level 15 be a unique skill that improves the damage of your units in a 2 square aura around her.
Conquest gets Dark Songstress and the dark outfit she used in Chapter 14 as her promotion and she gets 2 new skills that will serve as debuff auras to enemies.
Third promotion path exclusive to Revelations would be called Songstress of Silence and would boast Foreign Princess as one of its skills and the other is a Inspiration like aura for her.
If Corrin/Kamui gets a Valla noble class, the level 5 Promoted skill should be Torrential Roar which has an activation rate equal to that of Lethality, but does double damage and ignores half of the enemy defense and a stonefaire(maybe Draconic lore) that increases the range of Dragonstones by 1 and increases the damage output of them by 5 as well as the level 15 promoted skill.
