Cavs are a great class, and Paladins are probably 3rd best overall, don't get me wrong. But hidden weapons are just too good when factoring in their 1-2 range and debuffs, and Snipers get Pursuer which is broken to hell. The increased defenses don't matter much when late game lunatic enemies kill all of your units besides Generals, Xander, and Velouria in two hits regardless of class, while the increased avoid from ninja actually does help.

I forge, use Xander, use tonics, use food, and do paralogues even if I don't want the kids for experience. And in the last chapter, I still had to rely on a Bifrosted Xander who tanked all the debuffs long enough for me to rush them.

I think the next FE game needs to include active skills on a cooldown instead of passive RNG skills or just Rally. Let the tank classes learn a skill that allows them to take all the blows directed at their adjacent allies, on a 2 turn cooldown. This would allow strategic movement into open areas, like the stupid Birthright map with Hans and a shitton of flying enemy reinforcements. There is no other solution to turtling and sending your most powerful units out because the fliers will always be able to maneuver into a position to snipe your vulnerable units. Also, instead of letting the attack you block in Guard Stance be random, they should let you choose the attack you want to block.
Basically, the more choices you can make, the more it feels like a game about strategy. In Awakening and Fates, the bulk of the strategy is in the planning of your army. Your units, your skills, your classes. I would prefer a game where I can make important decisions on the battlefield, rather than hoping that my partner blocks the hit I wanted to block, or that my Sol activates.

All I'm saying is that there was no reason to make Male Kana get friendzoned in some of his relationships and have Female Kana never get rejected.
They should have either had some female Kana S-supports where the boy tells her 'sorry kiddo, but I just think of you as a little sister', or change male Kana's supports with the girls who friendzone him so that he doesn't confess and get rejected, and just make him happily platonic with possible hints at a future relationship like with Nina or Ophelia.
