For industry you will need to do a lot of research, make spreadsheets, etc if you want to make serious isk.
You can research BP's and sell those. That's pretty braindead easy but it's also not extremely profitable.
Wormholes can print isk, but you will need specialized skills, ships and probably a corp to make it worth your time.
Incursions are boring, yes, but way easier to do with consistent rewards and no risks.

Introduce new heat mechanic outside overheating modules. Running too many modules or overheating them without heat mitigation (especially energy weapons and prop mods) risks overheating your ship to the point of taking constant hull damage until you go back under your overheat limit.
This would replace the current heat mechanic while retaining the same fundamental functionality but allowing more use-cases. There would be low-slot modules availabe to improve heat mitigation. Amarr would of course benefit from this the most with their many lowslots, and also need it from their high-heat generating lasers.
Lasers would have the longest range, but extremely short falloff. They do a lot of damage the closer you get, and almost nothing at maximum range.
But they also apply heat to the target. At max range you don't do any damage because the laser is no longer focused, but your heat application remains constant because you're still dumping the same amount of energy into the target. The target's sig resolution influences this heat 'damage' much like it influences actual damage.
Furthermore, Pulse lasers actually pulse in a single quick flash of light with an explosion effect at the point of impact on the enemy ship. Beam lasers appear like a solid beam that applies constant damage the entire time the module is cycling (Damage of course applied during each server tick) and appears as a melting effect as the lasers move across the target's hull.
Pulse lasers would do explosive and thermal damage; beam lasers would do thermal and em damage.
Amarr hull bonuses would go towards heat mitigation and laser damage. Fitting lasers on non-amarr hulls would be difficult because of the large amount of heat they generate in your ship. (It wouldn't be impossible to do it, but you'd likely cook yourself dead trying on non-bonused ships without many lowslots with cooling modules)

You can't introduce any new mechanics to this game without them being called dumb. It doesn't matter what mechanics they are.
If T3D and jump destroyers were introduced here before they were introduced into the game, there'd have been a legion of people saying, "no, that shits dumb, just rebalance things normally"
It's why it's been so stagnant for so long. Even the devs themselves are really hesitant to introduce new mechanics because the playerbase is so deadset in keeping exactly what they have while simultaneously whining that they want something different/better.
It's an issue that every playerbase/development studio of every game runs into I think.

If you floated the idea of a massive mmo with spaceships and a player-driven economy there would be a million people calling it a shitty idea that would never be successful.
The concept of selling easily copied software in a marketplace where literally every potential buyer has a copying machine that could copy or get a copy of the product entirely for free would be laughed out of the room by anyone with a modicum of sense, and yet this is the very foundation to the multi-billion dollar software industry currently in existence. You'd have been laughed out of every economics class in existence had you presented this plan in the 1960's.
Every single fundamental concept in Eve has had multiple people calling it shit.
The point is that the people with opposing opinions, especially around here, largely do it just to be contrarian, rather than for any legitimate reasons. If CCP developers were to actually listen to these people (and unfortunately, they largely do) nothing would ever get added to the game, because it is guaranteed to upset SOMEONE.
All that can be done is to say, 'fuck you naysayers' and implement your ideas regardless of what they think.
And then if your ideas are good, you get to say, "I told you so" and if they aren't good, they get to say, "I told you so."
There's no room for much actual discussion, because 99% of the time it just devolves into, "Your idea is shit, I don't have to explain why, it just is, go kill yourself."
What I honestly find surprising is that CCP puts as much effort into garnering player feedback as they do. I'd hardly want to listen to the playerbase at all.
