The point of the deck is gaining as much armor as possible, then shield slamming face for the lethal. Added a lot of taunts to prevent your opponent attacking face and taking your armor, what do you guys think?

I can't believe how druid is good.
Secret Paladin are a problem only if they have a perfect start, otherwise you're fine.
Control warrior/Priest/Renolock are not a problem if you draw properly and plan a combo with +savage, or double combo, or can squeeze enough damage while drawing your stuff.
Zoo/Shaman/Tempo-Mage are fair, but if you can slow them a little its not a problem.

How good is zoolock for laddering right now?
I can throw together a budget one (no Loatheb/Boom) but will it give me a chance to to defeat the zillion control priests and tempo mages that are currently infesting ranks 15-20? I don't have any meta decks or the cards to craft them and I've been stuck in this hell for weeks. Seems like every other game is a cancer mage, mysterious paladin, control priest, or a gold farmer.

It's the most predictable deck in the meta right now, and its been flopping hard in tournaments because non-shitters know how to deal with it. It's a pretty standard zoo deck. It just lacks the trump card like Enhance-o, Loatheb, or Gormok. But if you don't have them, shredder is a good replacement because fucking shredder goes with anything. It's a good deck.
I prefer more the demon version with voidcallers and Mal'ganis, but it's more expensive and not necessarily more effective, though voidcallers are super good.

If you want to play a netdeck in ranked that you're not already experienced with, you have to learn how that deck's cards work in a vacuum and how they work against cards from other netdecks. Casual at a certain MMR offers the opportunity to learn both of these at a leisurely pace. Laddering at an appropriately competitive rank is too crushingly optimal to be able to learn much, and laddering at the dumpster / portrait farmer ranks is too much of a shitshow to learn anything.

There is no exact replacement because Loatheb is the only card with this effect, but you can play shredder because shredder is always good and it helps survive AOEs.

and I know there's a lot more of druids and zoos than secret paladin but that doesn't change the fact that the deck is broken
the only reason druid is so popular is because of combo, without it secret paladin is leagues better
and unlike druid secret paladin doesn't have any terrible matchups except maybe freeze mage which makes it even more annoying and a better ladder deck
is it worth buying league and blackrock at this point? a month before next expansion and less than a year before they get rotated out of standard.

It happens pretty often - I don't run secret paladin but I've run hybrid hunter and I know how often I t6 highmane t7/t8 highmane, and it's distressingly often - and it's fair to have complaints about it.

Look at their deck list. There are far more low cost cards than late game. Why? Because their goal is to establish strong board control in the hopes that they draw MC and have a big tempo swing on turn 6.
