I only suggested it because I dislike how prominent omni tanking is. Everybody having 75+ resists is just kinda faggy. If you have ammo that does 40% less damage but ignores 25% of that 75%, you end up doing only 20% increased damage of 1 specific damage type. Obviously you'd only have the penetrating ammo deal 1 damage type to not make it too stupid.

Because it makes ammo just another pointless illusion of choice. Any missile ship will deal the same amount of damage because everyone fits for omni. At least penetrating ammo helps the guns that struggle to deal full damage because they are locked into a certain damage type (lasers/hybrids).

I did the math. You end up getting at most a 20% damage bonus IF you encounter certain fits and end up with a damage penalty against other fits. That's the trade off. Vexor Navy has 4 mids and 6 lows. You can do a passive shield tank as well as speed tanking on top of it. You plant sentries and fly around at stupid speeds. You can fit either a 10mn AB or a 100mn AB for ludicrous speeds and be unhittable.

I agree on that, trying to remove modules in Pyfa is slow as fuck, but the overall usability is much easier in Pyfa. I had heard that Pyfa was better and changed to it. I can't go back to EFT purely because of the ugly UI.
