Thieves are built to stay the hell out of a fight unless they have the upper hand, usually through Blind application and stealth.
Rangers have better HP, but they're built to either be naturally evasive (trait lines with huge energy management, or built-in evades in combat [Sword 1, Greatsword 1]) or have their pet do the tanking for them.
Engineers can stand there and take it to the chin really well. There's a reason bunker engies were so reviled in PvP for, like, forever.

Hardly ever anymore, but I did. I don't think I would recommend roleplaying in gw2 because it's been dead in the ground ever since megaservers.
It's tough being interested in collaborative storytelling when, generally speaking, roleplayers aren't very good writers/raconteurs and mostly use it as retarded escapism with their overloaded snowflake characters. Back when decap engi was popular, fighting one was like eating an entire Little Caesar's deep dish pizza, then sticking an entire coconut up your ass and leaving it in there for a week. I'm not even sure if you could kill them, you pretty much had to hope that your team had a decap engi and the game would turn into a 4v4 with 2 points while they dicked around in their point.

Well the new borderlands are bigger than EBG and a pain in the dick to navigate. I don't know about the T1 servers, but they're pretty much dead 24/7 in T2. You basically get fucked by roaming bands of thieves if you try to do anything solo.

I could use some advice, this is probably not a good place to ask for it, but I'm comfortable enough with you lot to disclose it here.
I've been playing for a few months now and I really can't enjoy myself anymore, feels like my effort doesn't get me anywhere. One of the things I enjoy the most is leveling a completely new profession from scratch, getting to know it's mechanics, the good, the bad and the ugly of each -- It's a very fun experience.
But after getting to the 5 character mark, I ran out of slots, so I thought to myself "Just grind some gold, buy another slot, make a guardian or something". But gold is so incredibly hard to come by, and to be honest the fun of discovering a new profession can only last so long, I only have 3 left to go.
So I am in this very obnoxious place that HoT is not cutting it for me anymore, fractals are subpar, I don't have the time for raiding and most raiding groups are just full of enraged folks that can't take in wipes.
I just want to have fun again /gw2g/, I'm even trying to fit more diverse games in my gaming time to see if I'm not just burned out of the game, but it's not helping.
Please, help me rekindle the flame.

Why do raids have to be so stupid?
First boss takes a couple attempts but can be easily beaten if you call out greens and blues and have about 4 heralds and chrono for max might + timewarps.
The second boss requires an enormous fucking amount of DPS to beat it.
As for the third one, I never tried it yet, I got nowhere close to killing the second boss.

VG is just a mechanic based fight, and you can get by w/ making errors/having a non-optimal group comp. Same goes for Sabetha, both fights have room for errors & are mechanic-based.
Gorseval is definitely the harder of the 3. that DPS check is hard to overcome for most people.

About fractals, I never really liked them much, I always hated the idea of doing stuff daily, make games feel less like games and more like chores, it was just that one thing my guild would run everyday so I felt like I had to go with to keep up with the guildies I like -- But not even playing with guildies is doing it for me, since the game itself is not really fun anymore for me.

Cash shop currency. You get 400 every 5k AP, so no you don't really get them just handed to you in-game. If you are not f2p you can purchase them for gold at fluctuating market prices. Otherwise you buy them with cash.

Is Ice bow still valid stuff for high pve like raiderinos or fagtals? I know it took some huge nerf, but I tested it and it still does around 20k in 3 seconds and that's without might vuln stacks and only in pvp gear so in reality it will be even more deeps

Breakbar up? Use CCs to whittle it down, leading to a stun once you remove it fully. Then you wait for it to refill before using CCs again
Doesn't actually let you use the CCs effects, though- Fear doesn't actually fear the monster, nor does Chill slow it down. Just deals break damage to the bar.

There are certainly points where removing the breakbar is paramount. I've only experienced the vale guardian so far, but there's points where you need to quickly reduce that bar in order to progress the fight.

I'm trying to justify use of ice bow. It has 50% breakbar deep freeeze so it means 1 bow is 100% break. Also deeps. Are your elems using it?
