I didn't see the question last thread. I would have ended the game like this:
Basically Max gets to the point where she's in the nightmare, she leaves the diner after talking to herself, makes her way through memories with Chloe, and then gets to the lighthouse.
At the lighthouse she finds Rachel, clearly controlling the storm and pissed off at Arcadia Bay, glad the town is finally going to get destroyed. Max asks her why she's doing this. Rachel responds with how the town hurt her and Chloe. And how Rachel sent Max the warning to let her know that she should get out of town and also said that if Chloe died in the bathroom she should be happier because she would be with Rachel and William. It devolves into Max and Rachel fighting, accusing each other of hurting Chloe (Rachel lying to her, Max abandoning her for years). Their argument/ fight eventually ends with Max crying and yelling at herself for making so many mistakes.
Rachel realizes she was wrong Max, and can see that Max cares about Chloe, so she decides to give them a chance. Rachel helps Max up, apologizes to her, and says only she can make Chloe happy. They hug and Max wakes up, with Chloe, as the storm dissipates. Leaving the two of them on the cliff during the sunset. Max and Chloe own up to their mistakes and confess their feelings towards each other. They walk down the cliff, holding hands, and from the treeline you see an apparition of Rachel, smiling, before she fades away.
Cut to a montage during the credits of Polaroids showing the damage being repaired in the town, having a funeral for Rachel, Max and Chloe building a relationship, hanging out with their friends, and eventually going to various places on a road trip.

So, serious question here. The game has been over for more than a month now, and most people who still come here seem to be against any future content or a second season. Yes, EP5 didn't live up to what we hoped it would, but 1-4 undoubtedly brought enough of an attachment that we're all still here. I can't fathom people having such a sour taste in their mouth from the ending that they'd never want to experience what made everything leading up to it again, and as much as people are in denial about it, we all know that they're capable of delivering top notch content when they've got the time and budget to deliver it. They wrote themselves into too deep of a story and had to simplify it to keep up with their timeframe, and as a fragile tiny studio they're obligated to defend their product both for their sake and their publishers sake--especially if they ever want to have a chance to get the green light for doing more with this series.
So if you're actually against this series ever continuing, why are you torturing yourself by still coming here?

I'm not against a second season by any means and I think quite a few anons want it as well. The problem is that I've lost a lot of trust and goodwill to Dontnod. Prior to Episode 4 I was keen on a second season because I wanted to see the continuation of a series I've grown to love. Now I want a second season because I'm desperate to play something as good as the first four episodes and to make sure Episode 5 isn't the thing that leaves lasting impressions. At the same time though I view it with suspicion and mistrust (and probably still will throughout the year its episodes are released) because Dontnod have proven that they can't be relied on to create a well-written finale.

Max and Chloe are the protagonist and have to be interesting by default, Kate is just a victim who's circumstances far outweigh her personality, and Victoria is probably less plot related than Warren - and if he's "heterosexuality personified" then Vic is "girls can't get along" personified. They put in a negate effort to suggest involvement in the beginning with her defaced Rachel posters, place in the Vortex Club and friendship with Nathan, but she doesn't even qualify as a red herring. And her character is clumsily portrayed despite all her potential, then stuffed in a fridge for the sake of enhancing Jefferson's entirely undeveloped character at the 11th hour, despite having had a pefectly nice resolution to her arc during the party no matter which choice you went with.
I think the blogger is pretty damn harsh in suggesting Nathan was exactly spared, but it's genuinely fucked right the hell up that Chloe's unnecessary death is what it costs for him to get help, despite a lifetime of warning signs.
Also interesting (but not surprising) to hear that every creative on the LiS team was male.

Yeah, as much as having an all male creative team working on a game predominantly about female characters (and more than that, female characters being abused physically and emotionally and tied up against their will) is sort of iffy, most of that persons points are general issues with none of the characters receiving satisfying conclusions for what they 'deserve'.
