Maybe that's where I'm different, I really don't care about how characters play and would much rather have a smaller cast that gets more individual focus. It's a bit strange to run around with a gigantic crowd of people, I thought how Zestiria handled it was pretty neat in the end with you only really having two people due to how the Seraphs were handled. Well, put it this way. I know it's budget as fuck. I know a lot of people hate it. I know the beginning is a goddamn slog. I hate that Lloyd and Zelos' VAs were replaced. I was angry that the voice director couldn't bother to maintain consistency. Regal's Mystic Arc was a joke.
But I enjoyed the expanding of the worldbuilding and material (even touching on Phantasia/Narikiri Dungeon stuff a bit), I thought Tenebrae was amusing, I liked the twist and development of Emil's arc (I really enjoy the stories that make more things fall into place in retrospect -- there's a lot of shit that seems like it's there just to be silly or explain things from the first game to a new player, but it's actually foreshadowing), and it some ways it gave some nice follow-up for the fallout of the first game. The fact that it addressed and cleared up a big plot discrepancy people had been asking about since Symphonia came out was nice, too, not to mention seeing the combined world map using Phantasia's music.

In Phantasia, when the game starts, magic is pretty much nonexistent and the Mana Tree Yggdrasil is dead. This is because, as they point out repeatedly, magic and spirits can't exist without mana.
When Symphonia came out, people were quick to point out that instead of just affecting magic and spirits, the loss of mana was making crops fail, drying up water supplies, and generally killing everything. The planet itself would die without mana.

Different anon, but as far as I can tell, you have to get the shop levels up to befriend the brothers who can make the mythril stuff. When all of them like you, they'll direct you to the brother that lives in Lohgrin and that's when the quest officially starts.

Well, apparently according to some background info, a person knowing a seraph's true name could potentially give that person power over the seraph, so they're typically kept secret. Entering into a pact with a Shepherd is supposed to give them the power to actually control the seraphim (though Sorey's not enough of a dick to do that), and the Prime Lord could also potentially force the Sub Lords into obeying their commands. So if they could just cast away the name that would make it too easy I'd imagine.

Who knows, but I like this idea. They played with it a little (Mikleo being good with frozen foods while Lailah's got a better sense of baking, Mikleo frosting over the bridge, Edna's ground-launch, Dezel and Zaveid's wind-reading) but I sort of wish we saw more stuff tied innately to their elements. Lailah starting their campfires or something.
It is sort of funny when they rag on Mikleo for not knowing about ocean-related stuff.
