Only advantage to legs from what I can tell is that if you're got 19.8%'s and BBP, it'd be faster than going for head.
I'm on an Arc build, and it takes a shitload of time to even get its front legs to collapse, meanwhile I have to constantly dodge all its attacks and whatnot. Compare to attacking the head where, basically, you don't have to dodge attacks at all, you just bait it to bite, jump attack, back away, repeat, guaranteed ez win.

On my first playthrough, I beat him on my 3rd try. On the two or three runthroughs of chalices I did after that, I think I maybe died a total of one or two times. But this latest playthrough, I've died like ten times. Got close a couple times, but always manage to get hit a couple times and die. I've even been hit by his charge attack several times today.
All I've got is that single 16.5% bolt gem from Yarrharr Ghoul. My damage is shit and I'm fresh outta vials.

E.G., if he bites from left to right, even when he's near the end of his animation and his head is all the way to his right, you'll still take damage if your i-frames end while you're at his left side. On top of that, it seems like the entire front part of his body has a hitbox during that attack.
Not terrible, just a little odd. Harder to dodge than it looks like it should be, but with good positioning or timing you can get through it NP. Nothing like the Gutter Dogs of DkS2.

The only difference between the two methods in terms of safety is one relies on timing your repositioning and one relies on timing your quickstep. They both have to watch out for charge attacks, and they each have an attack they need to look out for (focusing on the face requires you to dodge the swipes and focusing on the legs requires you to dodge its bites).
What makes the leg strategy more viable is access to pellets that you would not be able to utilize nearly as well if you spend your time landing one attack and waiting for a few seconds until you can go back in and land another.
Anyone else look at the pre-order and wonder why the DLC is only what, 19Mb?

There's AoE after he gets up after breaking the armor on one of his legs. That's it, and you literally have to have never fought him in order to not see it coming. His slam is more telegraphed than your shitposting and not having to deal with his leap is more attractive than having to deal with being near him when he uses his AoE upon entering phase 2. Unless, of course, dodging his leap is>piss easy

If no one had trouble dealing damage, there wouldn't be any complaints about his HP pool. Hotdog is an endurance fight. You only die because you didn't dodge an attack that he does 20 times. The leg method is easier because there are fewer attacks to dodge because of how dwindled his health is.

Let's say you wanted to join an FRC Ihyll. You need to actually make one yourself. Then, once you've done that, you can use the chalice search or glyph search to copy someone else's Ihyll dungeon.
If you've completed Isz/Loran, but haven't made them FRC, and you still have the FRC Ihyll, you can actually search for FRC Isz/Loran without needing to make your own FRC version.
Basically, in order to unlock all FRC dungeons, you need to make at least one of them on your own and you have to have completed the story versions of the others at least once.
I'm not sure if you can unlock each rite on its own, but it's worth a try.

You bring it there without it attacking much because you keep it staggered by attacking the legs. Once it reaches that point, you're really fighting depth 1 hotdog that has more damage.

And you access those legs by putting yourself at larger risk than what is needed to hit the face. It's not good advice. If you're good enough to use that technique, you're not the kind of player who needs a guide on how to beat Watchdog. It's wasted advice.
