Alpha protocol. Not that I expected it to be total shit, but I was weary of its bad reputation. Turned out it was amazing hardcore RPG with your choices actually mattering.
Assassin's creed. I pretty much only wanted to use it as a benchmark because at the time it looked really good. Really liked the atmosphere and story showed promise.
The Last Remnant. Installed on a whim, thought it will probably be another dumb generic JRPG. Became one of my favorite games ever.
Darksiders. Al I knew about it was that it kinda ripped off Zelda, turned out to be better than any actual Zelda game I've played.
Zanzarah. That sure sounded gay as fuck when my friend gave me the disk: playing as a girl, catching fairies trying to save some gnomes. Turned out to be everything Pokemon series always failed to deliver.
Punisher. I was expecting a typical licensed property game, some shitty shooter or something, but it was really fun.
