Online is the biggest flaw Nintendo has. Nothing they're doing makes sense. No GBA games for 3DS, but they put them on Wii U. SNES games for New 3DS only, despite having them all on Wii U and Wii. And of course, the huge list of games they won't put up on virtual console.
Their only saving grace has been them putting zapper games on Wii U. But then, why weren't they on the Wii, which had the Zapper?

Depends on what you mean, resolution is better on the vita but the screen itself is only a few cm bigger than a 3DS XL screen, nothing too drastic. Plus with Xenoblade you could zoom in and out for how much view you wanted anyways, it works great on a handheld from my experience.

Because Nintendo can't run a SNES Virtual console without tapping into OS-reserved resources on the old 3ds. Meaning that like the GBA ambassador games, you wouldn't be able to put the 3ds in sleep mode, access the home menu etc.
Most people wouldn't be bothered by this, but access to these features is part of their Seal of Quality checklist, and a game cannot be sold on their system with these features missing. The 3DS has additional CPU power making this possible while keeping those features active.
The reason Nintendo did release these ambassador games was because they didn't actually sell them, meaning they didn't have to comply to their seal of quality checklist.

The Japanese version had far less puns and no accents. If the western version only used puns when the Japanese version did, we'd have 90% less puns. Instead, they changed a ton to make new puns. For example, Sharma Temple (Japanese) was changed to AllTrades Abbey in the English version. Just to make a characters pun name work (yet another change from the Japanese).

Yeah, Japanese Dragon Quest has puns too. I think IX had some pun books here and there, and there's puns in enemy names. There's probably a lot more than I know, I imagine a lot of them probably went over my head due to not growing up in Japan and missing stuff that requires cultural knowledge.
