I think turrets add so much depth to the game. The enemy team now has to worry about the sheer excitement of dealing with a disposable, endlessly respawnable hitscan weapon, that equals tactics, right?
I don't care if they're balanced or not, they slow the pace of the game down, and they add nothing but tedium to the mix.

The way matchmaking works is that it forces 40-60% win rate. If someone is a complete and utter shitter, they will get paired up with good players to carry them.
The better player you are, the higher chance that you will have shit teammates so you can carry them to victory, and also to force you to lose so that you don't get too many wins.
