So why do you hate pirates?
>>
They don't matter in the grand scheme. Piracy control is actually not a big concern to the profits of the industry. In fact, they are only so vocal about it because it is a policy to prevent it, but it doens't really matter to them.
>>
I don't pirate since a long time iirc, i have no reason to because games are fucking cheap on Steam but i don't fucking care that people pirate and that argument about pirating a game and playing for a while and then deciding to buy the game is true, i did that with The Witcher 2, Dark Souls 1 and Torchlight.
>>
The best deterrent tp pirates is providing game demos.

Does anyone even do demos anymore or are we left at the mercy of reviews and youtube gameplays?
>>
Pretty much only big Triple-A games use Denuvo
>>
Because it's shits up my computer. I couldn't be a pirate just because the amount of software and viruses it leaves all over the place, too messy
>>
I don't, they don't affect my life. I only pity them.
>>
I don't hate pirates, I hate the piracy counter-measures because they negatively impact the game I paid for.

Assassin's Creed II always online anybody?
I actually pirated it so I could play the fucking thing because of that shit.
>>
>hating someone who doesn't affect your life
That's only for those who hit the rock bottom.

Thankfully the situation looks more like pic related right now.

That said I don't pirate unless I want to check if I like it and there is no demo.
>>
Steam can decide I don't deserve all my games and can block me from then on a whim. I will buy physical games but never a digital game.

do you know why modern developers favor the console market? because 99% of console users pay for their games.

Can someone explain me why they do it? Don't tell me you do it because of your epic favorite company wars on the internet.

Because the majority of the vidya audience these days plays vidya casually from time to time, and thosep eople own consoles because they are more suited for that.

>because 99% of console users pay for their games
Not really.
>>
>>338151742
Sorry, I am not a psycopath
>>
>>338151668
No, they favored it (past tense) because it has standard hardware to aim optmization and because they fell for the fad of the console market boom and dying PC gaming.
They all coming back crawling now since Steam proved there are millions of $ to be made in the PC market. Piracy is a superficial problem and anyone who think it's worth losing sleep because of it lacks any depth to their critique.

In Europe only pathetic NEETs buy games with their mommy money. Or facebook neandertals, not knowing any software or how to pirate.

I have a fairly low paying job and I can purchase all the games I actually want. I used to pirate all the time but it was literally because it was hard to get copies of what I wanted where I lived. With steam's return policy it kind of eliminated the concept of try before you buy anyway. Most of the games I buy, I like. When I like something, I don't mind paying for it. All of these reasons are my own and I don't really judge people who pirate but something I hate is the reactionary development against it suchas shallow systems that require the game to be always online or whatever. I also know a couple of people who have the mentality that if a game doesn't have multiplayer it should be pirated. While I'm fine with pirates doing whatever they want, this mindset really fucking grinds my gears since good single players are a dying breed.

Pirated games universally run better than non-pirate versions because DRM and extraneous aids is striped out.

Pirated DS3 was more stable than non-pirate DaS 3 on launch for example. Its the same thing as pirating movies and not having to sit through 1000 ads before you get to the actual movie.

Maybe you always see it because your confirmation bias demands you do.
>>
>>338153769
Cracked they're as stable as a legit copy, if not more so depending on the DRM involved.

Crashing can be a number of things.
In my experience, it just doesn't happen. It works fine or it doesn't work at all. I'm inclined to believe just general idiocy is the root cause of those issues.
>>
>>338154697
>when you live on a country that doesn't give two shits about torrenting and actually respect your privacy as an user

Gonna stop you right there faggot. Your ISP doesn't monitor your traffic in the US, it's a third party company sending your ISP "This fuckhead is doing illegal shit, tell them to stop." Chances are if you torrent your ISP has received these letters before and they honestly don't give a fuck until it becomes a legal dispute which nothing but the heaviest of seeders will get. The only ISP to really care is time warner.

Just because you're in Yurop doesn't mean your ISP's and governments don't give a shit either, look at all those torrenting sites that were taken down from US copyright claims.
>>

Making it a little more awkward will curb the opportunists but has little impact on the determined.

>Piratefags
I don't dislike pirating games, I dislike it when someone who is really likes a game, but still insist on pirating it instead of supporting it. Like..... there are people who port beg for console game to come to PC who no plans of actually buying them. There are people who don't play on consoles because "video games cost money".

Basically, I'm one who loves niche games like Platinum's IPs and niche games need all the support they can get. Platinum has Activision$$$$$$$$$$$$$ at the moment, but before that all they had a poorfag name SEGA.
