What race will make space great again?
>>336889354
human master race
Be generous, give out steam keys :^)
Fungoid 10, because fun is already in the name, and I want to punch the universe.
>>336889354
What are those portraits with asterisks?
Pre-order bonuses or something?
>>336889531
You seem like a fun guy.
It shall be an orgy.
Is there a legit torrent download yet?
I want to give the game a try but I don't get paid until the end of the week (Friday) and £35 is a bit much for me to chuck away on a whim.
>>336889551
Special edition stuff.
You get the spider looking arthropoid 14 for the special edition and the other for the super special edition, for when you're super special.
>>336889551
Spiders are from limitededition others will be ready latter and peoplewho preordred will get them for free
>>336889592

>>336889660
What about *14 from the Molluscoid? Never seen that before.
>>336889653
>and £35 is a bit much for me to chuck away on a whim
Really? I wasted $40 on the stranger of sword city and feel bad about itcheatedBut having doubts about buying paradox vanilla game(and pirating all dlc)?
>>336889551
$300 DLC from Parajews as per usual. Can't wait for the Portrait DLC 2 where you get three new portraits for the cheap price of $40! All hail Paradox, the good guys of the video game industry!
>>336889809
Disregard me, I was right about arthropoid 14, everything else with an asterisk is actually >>336889701
>>336889842
You could just wait for the modding slaves to make free portraits.
>>336889809
Hydra/Xenomorph, Evil Porcupine, Dinosaur Bird, Shadowy Anthropoid and Fungoid Infected Mammalian
>>336889354
why is space filled with animals?
>>336889920
It's a jungle out there
>>336889920
To trigger autists.
>>336889840
I just want to try before I buy - at the moment my income is hilariously low due to being made redundant from my job last year and even though I'm working now I'm earning less than a third of what I used to while still looking for a way back into what I used to do (I used to be assistant manager of a respite care home, now I work behind a supermarket checkout).
So yeah . . . The game looks like my kinda game and I want to give it a try, if I like it I'll probably buy the full special edition at the end of the week. If not - i'll share the torrent for a while so others can try and then i'll uninstall/delete and wait for the next 4x.

You can build robot slaves, and I think you can do cybernetic implants on your people. One of the end game scenarios might be having to deal with the singularity.

There are options for cybernetic enhancements and there are robots.
Does which version you prefer order effect any dlcs in the future? I don't really care about the music or the spiderman and shit but will the better versions get more free dlc and stuff?
>>336890452
You get the other DLC races with the asterisk for free if you pre-order, nothing else should be affected.
>>336889354
Fungoid 10 is literally dark souls meme fungoid
>>336890386
stop pointing stellaris fags to gsg

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>336891358
If you can build up a fleet of a shitton of strike craft from supporting ships it might be pretty cool
In the streams they did they always just blobbed up one big stack with heavy armor/missiles and rolled slowly with it, but I reckon you could get away with multiple smaller, high evasion strike forces used to pester larger fleets and stations
Or maybe not, we'll see tomorrow
This and HOI4 coming soon. Is 2016 the best year of gaming?

Is this game single player?
Is it comfy?
I want a comfy space colonization game, and
the threat of other people isn't comfy.
>>336892350
Being the next god emperor of the galaxy becomes comfy
>>336892350
Yes, Yes.
>>336892350
You can play it against/with AI or real people, obviously.
It's pretty great in terms of customization for galaxies, so you can totally just fuck around by yourself if you feel like it, not sure what you'd get out of that though.
>>336892426
Thanks
>>336892436
I've played Spore and Beyond Earth for ages on single player, just for comfy sci-fi empire/base building. Yeah, I'm autistic to a degree.
>>336892647
You should love this game then because it will be far better than Spore.
I'm so hyped, I know I will be disapointed but I'm so hyped.
>>336891968
Fungus is like a cross between plants and animals
Plants don't make much sense because they're extremely passive. They have rudimentary nervous systems, but they don't operate anything similar to animalia.
There's just a lot of things about plants that don't really allow even a tribal-level civilization, let alone getting into space.

>>336892946
Plants are so fucking fascinating. They're basically just incredibly complex chemical reactions, with its based code packed in to a tiny, hard nodule.
Supply that nodule with water, light, and minerals, and you get towering structures with a variety of colors, smells, and even material functions for other complex chemical reactions.

>>336893626
>until they decide that organic life is cancer of universe
Why something based on logic and objectivism would conclude that is beyond me.
Robots would see organic life as a product of the universe, like nuclear fusion or gravity. I doubt they'd try to eradicate that.
>>336893626
>sentient organics can self-improve
>sentient synthetics can't self-improve
>Society has long since evolved past the insignificant rivalries and concerns of the individuals. We are numerous but one, and the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. We stand truly equal....The purpose of the individual is simple: strengthen the collective. To enter the blackness of space we move as one, and we shall not be weakened by wanton separatism.
>>336893759
Robots dont need life, they need materials
Humans are made of materials
Those materials can fit into machines that grind people into more useful materials.

Your population is divided between your race, migrated aliens, and slaves
Having a high slavery acceptance increases your own populations happiness, which makes them work better at whatever they do. Slaves have a natural bonus to working because they are forced too which makes them more useful than your own race, or migrated aliens, but there are risks like slaves rebelling. Although if you are collectivist slaves have a lower chance to rebel becasue its for the 'greater good'
Your traits and government type have a massive effect on what you can and cant do, and the outcomes of slaves. So its a lot more complicated than that.

How broken will this Paradox game be at release?
>>336895236
Somewhere between entirely and not at all
>>336895236
I heard slavery is a problem in the pre-release build right now, but other than that it looks pretty fucking solid.
>>336895236
No matter what people say, CK2 was pretty good at release. I expect Stallaris to be fine also.
>>336895236
Do you mean broken as in bugs or broken mechancially?
Not significantly in the former, but very much so in the latter, and I doubt it will ever be rectified.
>>336895236
Looks pretty safe from all the let's plays that have been done so far.
Where does this "All paradox games are fucked on release" meme come from? Because I don't remember EUIV or CK2 being broken on release.
>>336895310
>CK2 was pretty good at release
90% of events were broken, like giving money to pope or claim ones
>>336895070
yeh I know but I was wondering if you went with a fanatically collectivist divine mandate you'd have +100% slavery tolerance from the collectivist and +50% additional from the government form
does that extra 50% do anything or not?
>>336894732
That's the saddest part.
>>336894978
Yeah, I've tasted that on SOASE
>>336895065
True, I do that for most games anyway and it usually comes out unplayable even when I nail every setting to the floor. Or because cunt devs don't allow setting changes and then I have to fuck around with .cfg or .ini files to get some semblance of playability.

I don't think slavery tolerance works like that. 100% just means they're twice as tolerant to it than normal, so the negative impact is halved, not that they're 100% fine with slavery.
>>336895505
What was wrong with them?
>>336895459
It's garbage, even worse than dt2

dt2 is amazing, you nigger
SO how will the multiplayer in this game be?
It seems like multi cant work for a few reasons
1: diplomacy is a huge part of this game and most human players are warring fuckers from the get-go and
2: Lag is likely to occur
So what's the point? Unless multiplayer also has some AI and you arent sure which is human and AI, so you diplomacy might work better if you think you can reason with AI more than a human

Literally all Paradox games had fucked built-in multiplayer pre-steamworks. You just used hamachi and it was fine.
>>336895696
War is half of diplomacy stupid
You can customize the amount of AI and human players.
>>336895796
That's if you play with people you know irl
Not online
Online strategies boil down to:
> isolationist warring faggot
> temporary ally waiting on the edge of his seat to betray you
>>336895831
Literally all games have a mountain of retards who can't get it working on their computer.
Please show me a single game where people don't complain about not being able to get shit working on their shitboxes.
>>336895819
You're wrong because most people who invest 10+ hours into a single multiplayer session wouldn't go full retard and risk drawing the attention of everyone else in the game right away.
>>336895869
>War is half of diplomacy stupid
So if you're going to redefine the terms of diplomacy to make it seem like war all the time is good, then it doesn't strengthen your overall argument that there is more to just war online.

Once you eliminate the individual you're turning into a sort of hive race, and quite frankly you are no longer human; you've diverged far enough to be another species entirely.

>64% of people would have to upgrade their PC to play stellaris

>>336900048
too many ethos you dumb nigger
>>336900113
Bit confused since it lets me pick as many as that and still said I had points left so I just picked what I could.

you get three greens or one orange and green
>>336900253
Well I refreshed so it gave me the right points to work this time.
reminder that slaves cant revolt. They cant even join factions as theyre in slave faction. You can slave unhappy or otherwise "hostile" pops without any drawbacks. Slaves cant do anything bad unlike normal pops so theres no reason to now enslave everyone
Bravo paradox
>>336900770
DLCs will fix that.
>>336900770
Yeah but there are fallen empires and other nations in general that will declare war on you for being a dick-ass slave owner.
>>336900770
Not true, factions spawn within your empire and can splinter off under certain circumstances, one of those potential factions is run by slaves.

My bugs are ready, worker caste strictly enforced

Don't forget
>witcher 3: Blood and Wine
>>336901087
Pretty sure they will form a certain sorts of govs, but it would be funny if
>slaves revolt and win
>slave leaders form an empire that imposes slavery
i want the game but i dunno if i should preorder.
i'll probably do the smart thing and wait for the steam reviews reaction first. probably buy it on tuesday.
>>336901250
historically accurate
most slave revolts weren't against the principle of slavery, but rather against the fact that THEY were the slaves
>>336893210
Buyfags are slowly taking over /v/
This is worse than neo-/v/
>>336901380

Unless you really dont care about the preorder bonuses
>>336901596

Anons, what will be the best/useless trait to pick at the start?
Invidualist and pacifist seems like the most useless to me
>people being genuinely hyped for a modern paradox release
>>336901645
