I've played both OW and that one group in Whiterun from Skyrim. Both are good and not really comparable, but Overwatch better for me personally.

It's even co-op. The mission TotalBiscuit showed off was an escort mission where your escort was a happy-go-suicidal spider tank bomb with turrets and shields that you could modify along the way.

It's my fault, I got into the beta for this and I thought it was a copy of OverWatch rather then a MOBA so when I saw there were lanes and shit like that I alt+f4'd and uninstalled. So sick of MOBAs, and at this point no game does anything truly new or innovating to warrant so many copies that all play almost exactly the same. Maybe the game is fun, but personally I think MOBAs are fairly stagnant and boring at this point. Some of the characters looked kinda cool though.

Try it again. It's not a standard MOBA. It's a hybrid objective-based FPS with Moba elements, and it has an entirely non-MOBA co-op campaign, too.
Like, I can barely tell any difference from LoL, DotA, or the 50 other MOBAs on Warcraft 3, but Robocraft's MOBA mode feels fairly different from all of those, and this looks even more different from that.

There are no items. You get money from just running around shooting shit and it is only used to buy/upgrade or ignore turrets and machines around the map.
It's an FPS first and foremost. The past-pace and quick shooting is what takes spotlight. Imagine a refined Borderlands almost in terms of gameplay. IT's not slow farm and build bullshit.

Literally no. You escort your mooks to the grinder on the enemy's side by clearing out enemy players to make a path. The more/bigger of your mooks get ground up, the more points you get, the more points you get. Around a third of the way or half way, the grinder changes areas and this helps negate tedium of going to the same general area, as the scenery changes a little.
The only equipment in the game is acquired and equipped between games and not only are the benefits not so potent as to completely dominate how well you perform, but you can play in a way that doesn't rely on them entirely and still be credit to team.
You can get points from killing enemies or building things in the environment to help your mooks survive along the way or help you take out other enemies.

This isn't entirely true; out of game you can equip a "gear" loadout which basically is you stocking a 3 item shop for your character to access in game. So in this loadout you may put a shield+100/hp-20 item and it does nothing until you spend in match currency to activate it.

They're not too spongy. Depends the character you play as, really. I played the DPS heavy soldiers, but they seem to go down quick enough to not be frustrating for most. Even boss enemies seemed to fall apart when getting hit by crits

I expected to hate this game because I hate Gearbox and can't stand their humor or artstyle, but it's actually pretty fun. Running around fucking people up as Rath is very entertaining and I think Meltdown is a great mode for a game like this.
I just wish I didn't hate the graphics so much. It's extremely ugly and messy looking. It lacks a polished look that I think Overwatch really does well. It looks too much like Borderlands, for obvious reasons.

Snowballing is way less a thing in Battleborn than other MOBAs since as far as I understand it, it mostly just applies to various active or passive upgrades to your abilities, and while this does make you more lethal, it isn't by as insane a margin as standard MOBAs as skill and smarts are far more effective on the battlefield than levels and equipment.
I'm on the fence about it.
Haven't tried the multiplayer yet but both the "campaign" missions were lackluster as fuck. Which isn't surprising because i'm pretty sure the pvp multiplayer aspect is the main focus.

If people are dumb enough to sit in them, yeah they work well on everything. Airstrike is at least best saved for the bots though. You can have it preped before ever coming into line of site and it triggers instantly.
