Thanks for your help in the last thread, after a few nights of trying I finally beat Chaos Witch Quelaag and wasted about 10 humanity summoning Mildred who mostly just got stuck in Lava.
What should I do next? I've played like shit the whole game and fat rolled through most of it. I have a Claymore+7.

The claymore can carry you through the entire game if you so choose. Also get rid of the blue tearstone ring and go grab the chloranthy ring in the great hollow.

The giant leeches at the bottom of Blighttown drop large titanite shards. The slimes in the Depths drop them as well but it's rarer.

Elite knight armor is pretty good, that claymore should be fine. By any chance did you kill lautrec or do you know where he is because he gives you a nice ring if you kill him. If you want to farm souls then try and get 20k and get the crest of artorias, once you do that, go to the forest and open the door with the circle on it. there is a bonfire before the door to the left that is behind an invisible wall. you get the crest from andre btw

Master parrying and stick with trying to beat Sen's. Buy the Greatsword from the faggot merchant at the top of the fortress, and go back to the blacksmith. Upgrade that as much as you can. Equip it, unequip the shield, two hand the greatsword.
Congrats, the game is easy mode now.

I'm currently in my first play through as well, just have a question considering blacksmithing.
I have a weapon that is reinforced +10. Is there any reason to ascend it at all? From what I have gathered if you ascend a weapon it loses it's stat scaling.

Use the traps to help you kill the snakes. Aggro them and then run back towards the entrance and trigger it once they're in front of the arrow source. They take a lot of damage from it.

That's if you ascend it to Raw.
You can find an ember later in the game that ascends weapons properly to +11 and beyond without losing the scaling.

I just booted up DS again and noticed all my characters are gone (proberly due to games for windows live getting fucked I guess) but I also noticed that my FPS in the entire game has dropped. It feels like I am in Blighttown no matter where I am. Anybidy else got this shit?

Drop the Knight Shield, it's shit and only used by noobs because of the pretty pattern. Pick up the Heater Shield/Grass Crest/Spider Shield. Also get rid of the Blue Tear Stone, the Red one is far better, also Havel's ring so you can roll faster [or just get rid of the Helmet].

When I did my first run, I was proud that I beat Ornstein and Smough first try. I even went on /v/ to brag about it. They asked me, "how many summons did you use, faggot?" I thought that Solaire counted as a summon, so I said 1. They called me a faggot who used someone else to push my shitty character, and then asked to see my shitty equipment.
