Right, listen up.
Undertale is an RPG that focuses more on story than gameplay, and many encounters can be defused through nonviolent means.
The story depends a fair amount on surprising twists, so spoiling the game for yourself will noticeably reduce your enjoyment of it.
The game's music is wonderful, and Toby Fox uses leitmotifs and callbacks expertly. You'll hear a lot of remixes and snippets of other songs as you play through.
Fights take place in a constrained bullet hell-style environment. They're not Touhou hard, but you will have to put some effort in on late-game encounters if you don't want to get wrecked.
As someone who played it without any knowledge going in, it's a great game. It's not GREATEST OF ALL TIME like many people are trying to make it out to be, but it's a charming and heartwarming tale with a great sense of comedy.
Make sure to play through more than once, and don't look anything up. You'll only regret it.
