I'm seriously thinking of rolling back to Windows 7 after 10 decided what programs my computer wasn't allowed to have any more as mentioned above, but it's probably too late.

I don't understand operating systems. I mean, what are you guys actually doing that makes your operating system matter so much? I literally just do schoolwork, browse the internet, and play video games, and doing those 3 things has been nearly exactly the same no matter what operating system I use. It is virtually fast Win 7. Windows 10 does not support shit. If you wanna play old vidya tough luck, 8.1 workarounds do not work for Win 10, motionjoy does not work in win 10, several workarounds do not work on win 10 if you want to use a dual shock 3, I had to buy a xbone pc controller, which fucking sucks, not the controller itself but the mini usb cable was made to break within weeks.
Rainbow Six 3 and older games using old versions of Direct X do not work on win 10 not even with community patches.

I fell in love with 7 after XP. It was smooth change.
I was forced to use 8 in uni and it was pain, mostly for no start menu and it reeked like it was desgined for tablets. I got so annoyed with it, I never got around to try 8.1, which everyone says was decent.
I bought laptop for web browsing and doing uni related things. It also can run some older games. Installed 7 on it with freee key from uni and there were problems. It would freeze or hang on randomly (after installing nvidia drivers). Turned out it's recognised error by M$. Solution was to change registry values, which instead of completely hanigng computer it would make it freeze 'for only' max ~8s.
It was reported there was no such issue in 8/8.1 and 10 when it came out. Decided to upgrade to 10 and issues stopped.
That said, 10 is really annoying at times. Apps on menu bar, automatic forced updates are top of iceberg for me.
Settings didn't revert for me so far, but I dont doubt it could happen. I turned off tracking and all taht shit, but is it really turned off? Who knows. Though, if M$ wanted, I think they were capable of tracking since XP or 7 easily, without telling anyone.
tl;dr if 7/8,1 works for you,dont upgrade. Why fix something that's not broken.

That has yet to be seen, its being added by the graphics card companies themselves so it won't be working through a DX11 wrapper if that's what you're thinking. Nvidia for instance added it on top of their internal low level stack, and AMD already had Mantle support.
