We will now go through mission 4 of metal slug 3 together. It's a pretty tricky mission that's not the last mission so pay close attention.
This time around we'll be playing as Fio.

The camel slug is cool and very effective. The only downside is the extra elevation but you'll get used to it eventually I'm sure.
For this part I recommend taking down the helicopters first and foremost.
Feel free to use plenty of grenades to get the job done, it's not like you'll be using them on the boss or anything.
There's a bit of a slope here. The farther left you go the higher you'll be.
Use this to your advantage! The extra height will save you from this rifleman's bullets.
You'll notice that soldiers keep spawning from the right even after you've destroyed the truck. This is why you should focus on the helicopters first.

The jets that'll fly by will drop rockets that you can hop on. If you can't shoot them down try hopping over/on them.
Feel free to use your grenades on the tanks here but make sure they hit 'em. There's a lot of soldiers that'll be spawning here and they'll sometimes get in the way.

This part is pretty tricky with the grenades the soldiers keep throwing. You can go right under them sometimes too!
Once you've come to a halt you should try to stay on the left side of the screen. If you're too far to the right the tanks will start spawning from the LEFT meaning you can't chuck any grenades at them.
Three of 'em will spawn.

Crank the lever here to go down for the path with the most POWs. Quickly though, these dandelions blow and will kill you if you touch 'em. Use your heavy machine gun's spread to dispose of 'em.
When I first started playing MS3 I always just fell right through this hole and let the plant on the right just barely miss me. It looks cool! sometime though it actually got me. It'd be lame to die here so use a grenade on him if you want.

These maggots' yellow fluids will fuck you up, but they only ever so slowly pour it out of their bodies when you're close. They're pretty easy to get rid of unless you're just not shooting for whatever reason.
Crank the lever here for a POW. A few crabs will spawn to stop you but your flame shot's pretty great, you know?

After you've dealt with your crabs you can either ignore the iron lizard and use your flame shot or just grab the thing.
It really doesn't matter for this part. It's long and very easy.

MS1 has a different feel to it. You can clearly see how much love was put into the game.
MSX is like a really good remix of MS2. Taking advantage of the new MS3 engine and twisting the game without removing anything from the original. It also has the best pace in my opinion.
MS3 went full crazy shit and was clearly designed to be the true last game of the franchise before SNK went bankrupt. The multiple paths add to its replayability but I also think that some of them are just "useless" in some way and tend to be ignored.
Okay wake up, this is important.
This POW will drop a very important SHOTGUN. You're going to want to hold on to this and try your best to not grab ANY OTHER WEAPONS from now on.
Avoid all other weapons.
Use the rest of your grenades on these crabs, your shotgun's ammo is more important.
The next POW will give you even more grenades.
USE THEM IMMEDIATELY.
Don't you dare needlessly waste your precious shotgun's time on low-lives like these.
Here comes a giant enemy crab.
Once you've exhausted your reserve you'll have no choice but to use your shotgun at this point.
Ignore the heavy machine gun the faggot drops, it's a trap.

The drill slug is a very powerful slug with a very powerful drill.
When you press the grenade button your drill will charge forward and pierce whatever's in it's path
press the jump button and your vehicle will elevate itself like so.
If you charge forward towards an enemy without pressing the grenade button or anything your drill will still destroy whatever is in your path.

Sadly we'll be missing out on touching Rumi Aikawa here, meaning she won't count towards the final POW tally.
If you look to your right you'll see a bunch of snails. If you shoot one that's hanging from the ceiling it'll fall down, turn red, and explode. That explosion will hurt so try to stay away from it.
Better yet just use your drill to pierce their shells entirely.

The two POWs by the enemy chaser will give you ammo (for your wonderful shotgun) and more bombs (in this case, drilling power) Make certain you get the bullets at least, they're very important.

The last snail before the last giant shell will drop it so don't zone out. Go over it, the last thing you want is to get rid of your shotgun.
Touch the POWs but don't pick up what they drop. One of 'em will drop a laser and you don't need that.
How do I get good at MS? I never played any games like this when I was a kid, so trying to play them now I just get completely fucked.

Literally practice.
You want to get good at ANYTHING you have to practice.
So this guy infamously sucks a ton of dicks. He has no set pattern for the most part and will most likely fuck you up with his golden attack which fires golden shots all over the screen at random. There is no safe spot, you have to improvise by jumping and crouching in-between the shots.
What you're going to want to do is fuck him up as soon as possible but it's almost impossible to use your grenades since his weak spot is too far up.
ALMOST.
With a SHOTGUN or FLAME-SHOT by your side you do stand a higher chance to take the ass out before he has a chance to use his infamous gold attack.
A flame shot has farther reach, you can get it by taking the top-most path. With a shot gun you'll have to jump if you're not in the center of the screen.
His red attack will home in on you and shoot. You're going to want to keep moving and not stand still. The more practice you put into this the more you'll notice exactly when he locks onto the spot where you're standing and you can move from there. Also try to watch other people playing if you can.
For his blue beam, he'll go to the edge of either side of the screen and start covering most of the stage. Pro-tip: To have a better chance of getting away just remember that you move a lot faster while you're jumping. So just jump out of the way rather than running.
It doesn't show up here but his wolf attack is the second hardest to avoid I think. All you need to do is keep an eye on when the wolves start crashing down to the ground and jump a bit before they hit it. For extra assurance you won't die; move to the left or right as well.
All of his attacks are sped up the more damaged he gets so be careful. The redder he is the closer you are to defeating him.
