The only thing this game ever did, in any way, to insinuate that the monsters around you are in any way threats on your life, is have you take easily restorable damage from attacks you can't dodge. Most of them come to like you so much that they just walk away from battle, the rest get scared the fuck off and run away, and a good number you simply walk away from. Outward appearances are the ENTIRE POINT of this game, just that some aren't the same as others.
Not to mention Genocide Run where the entire game is literally "Kill every single thing you are physically capable of killing before the game tells you that you are 100% done" which gives you an alternative story path as well as the best boss fights in the game.

I can see where people are coming from and while Undertale is definitely one of the most popular games on Tumblr right now that's due to two things

I find it very sad that people are trying to make fun of others due to their opinion on something, let alone a game. Personally I never even heard of Undertale before, but with all the beef that it's got, I purchased it, and I think it's amazing.
Will I say it's the greatest game ever? No. I can see why it has its charm. I love the music, characters are funny, but I feel like it's incomplete.
With /v/ I'll probably be called a faggot or some tumblerina or some nonsense, when really it's just insecurity that's showing (this is also the reason I mainly go on /pol/ now)
