drowned manhattan where people have built bridges between the skyscrapers, to create the games open world. emphasis on flying around and diving, endgame choice is whether or not to reactivate the cities massive underground pump system which will force out the mermaid people and create a period of chaos as borders between the different micronations are temporarily obliterated.

West somewhere.

Bethesda have the East, whoever they let make the game (which is likely Obsidian) have the West like the originals.

Personally I would like a follow up to New Vegas in the same manner that F2 was a follow up to F1.

I want to see what happened to the area. And maybe get some more stuff on the Legion and what became of it.

Hell you could make it about a civil war within the NCR. And you can either try to reunify them, or help one of the factions rise up.
>>
>>317753987
>Personally I would like a follow up to New Vegas in the same manner that F2 was a follow up to F1.
No you wouldn't, because then they would have to create a canon ending and it would make NV utterly pointless. Which is why they wont do it.
>>
>>317753690
There are hints of a Chicago DLC

some Idle Prydwen dialogue talks about a certain chapter causing trouble there

If Dragon Age could whip up a method to "import" your save from previous games, I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that NV could too.

Depends on the writing. If it is set an adequate enough time after the events of NV, things could have happened in the interim that render whatever the outcome was moot.

Like say the dam is now failing, so whoever did get it in the end, it didn't really matter.

Plus technically we already have canon endings in the series. Otherwise certain characters couldn't appear in later games.

Man, NYC Fallout would be so cool, but it's bombed.

A civil war in the civilized, tamed heart of the NCR would just be a modern shooter with some RPG elements on it and some 50's paraphernalia on the side.

Long Island would be the perfect setting for an east coast fallout.

It's got urban parts. It's got rural parts. It's got logical reasoning for why you can't leave it (bridges broken, instead of FO3's invisible walls). They could make an awesome manhattan DLC.

I really want Bethesda to just stick to the west coast. It's more interesting thatn the East, and they can more or less just add to the story in the west. Well if Fallout 3 bored you because nothing mattered, ie lack of consequences, then you'll like New Vegas. Skyrim was a fun game, Fallout 3 was a fun game, but the ... "Bethesda" illusion sort of wears off at one point, and you realize that nothing you actually do ever fucking matters, and then you lose interest. So yeah, try New Vegas, I'm sure you'd like it since it's overall a really good game.

Obsidian is all about continuing the Fallout story.

For that reason, I'd guess that either:
>NCR is moving North to Seattle/Vancouver and gets in a war with locals
>NCR is moving South to Mexico and gets in a war with Post-Apocalyptic Aztecs
>NCR sends out a few battleships East and lands in Japan/China, where they get in a war with the locals
or
>You are a political agent of the NCR and must travel all across California to save this new country before it crumbles from the inside. Along the way, you accidentally get elected president and decide the fate of the Khans, BoS, Ghouls, Mutants, etc.

I kind of just want them to retconn tunnelers. Like, shit, it's just a mechanism to make all of NV pointless. doesn't matter who won or lost, tunnelers ate everyone. Which is stupid, seeing as with House having access to the platinum chip (fallout universe's first microprocessor) and a near infinite number of highly advanced securitrons and a united vegas, tunnelers would be incredibly easy to kill. Shit, the courier alone could take down sizeable numbers of tunnelers.

Honestly, Texas would be the best option. It'd be difficult to follow up on the ending of New Vegas 2, so setting it somewhere a good ways away and keeping the NCR and Legion as simple references from traveler's stories would work the best.

The Dallas Fort Worth area would probably work great, giving it the first 3D game with two major cities for the price of one. That said if they wanted to go Wild West, Houston might fit the feeling more.

Bethesda fucked over Obsidian because New Vegas got a metacritic score of 84 instead of 85. Do you think the game just accidentally happened to get a 84? Obviously Bethesda paid the reviewers to give them a worse score so that Bethesda wouldn't have to pay a bonus to Obsidian.

Hippos are way scarier, and they're in a category of their own. I really don't understand why nature made them such aggressive killing machines when they're herbivores.

Honestly? Not really - while what he said about Fallout 4's gun modding is bullshit (MGSV already did it, and technically so did MGS4) - New Vegas's gun modding system, even with mods, was much more simple and incomparable. Not saying either is better or worse, they're just different beasts.

I would love to see a Fallout game set in Florida, especially South Florida. Miami would be filled with Cuban raiders, and cannibals. Boca Raton would have a Vault that was only for old rich people. Key West would be a independent nation, and it would be called the Conch Republic. The Everglades would be filled with Mutant Crocodiles, and inbred rednecks. And, Fort Lauderdale would have a secret BoS base.

Does Fallout 4's "lore" make sense in the Fallout universe? Do they make references to earlier games like 1,2,3 or NV?

As fucked as 3's story and lore was I could still tolerate it being part of the "official lore". But from what I'm hearing from people is that 4 is completely retarded even compared to 3.

Robots have full AI
Vertibirds (they were a rare concept vehicle that never had rollout before the nukes dropped)
T-60 Power Armour pre-war
Fusion Cells last 100+ years
Super Mutants on the East Coast
Bombs dropped at 3AM in the morning
Jet/Myron
Raider Power Armour
Assaultrons pre-war
Gauss rifles being complete shit compared to top-tier military weaponry.
Ghouls are completely static in personality and age and are 100% immortal.
Pre-War X01 Power Armour
The Great War was already over by the time the bombs dropped and America wasn't at war with the Chinese. (Yes this is in a terminal in FO4)
Aliens really launched the nukes.

>Man, NYC Fallout would be so cool, but it's bombed.

>>
>>317767397
The thing is that Beth's interpretation of Fallout isn't necessarily wrong (outside of the glaring lore discrepancies and in regards to things like faction characterization etc), it is the time line that fucks it.

If they were set 50 years after the bombs, no worries. 150+ years is fucking retarded though. Especially when the quest is to go 2 blocks down the road to check a supermarket for left over food or supplies.

That shit should have been done already. They should already have either died of starvation, or established proper farms or some other food supply. Things should be either disheveled and nobody around, or built up if people actually survived.

I can live with the characterizations being different as just being artistic license. But the time line and logical conclusions from such a time frame they have put in are pants on head retarded.
>>
Why does Bethesda always think that FEV plus humans equals supermutants?

That's not how supermutant creation works. Its a very specific process that took The Master years to perfect. FEV is not supermutant juice.

I mean fuck, both The Master and Harold are also FEV mutants but they aren't supermutants because they are not a product of the dipping process.

>>317767397
3 has a shitton of stupid coincidences and OOC moments on top of its own internal consistency and terrible writing. It will always be worse than Fo4 in that regard. That being said, there are a lot of lazy slights in Fo4, like the existence of pre-war Jet (its post-war creation is a major plot point in Fo2 and you can travel around with the character who created it), a serum that can entirely reverse the effects of FEV (regardless of when it's applied, that's not how FEV works), cats, pre-war society, the Institute in general, and the overall state of the Commonwealth. Their insistence on moving the timeline forward coupled with their fixation on a lawless, ruined wasteland clash horribly. It's not as bad as Fo3, again, but it's still obnoxious and off-putting when you take into consideration the Institute and the Commonwealth as a whole.
>>
>>317767397
Fallout 4 contradicts itself lorewise in the same fucking game.

You have a quest where some BoS member was stealing food to feed a bunch of feral ghouls to keep them satiated to prevent them from attacking people.

You also have a quest IN THE SAME FUCKING GAME where a ghoul child was locked inside a refrigerator for 200 years and survived just fine. You let him out and lo and behold both of his parents are also still alive as ghouls.

I don't egt why people are complaining about the Tunnelers specifically.

A huge point in all four DLCs is that there is something in those areas that most likely will spill over the Mojave and fuck shit up

Dead Money has the Cloud (There's an overhaul mod that plays around with this idea)

Honest Hearts has the White Legs/Other soon to be indoctrinated Legion tribes

Old World Blues has any experiments the Think Tank creates Like the Cazadores as well as whenever they decide to leave the Big MT

And Lonesome Road has the Tunnelers and Marked Men.
>>
>>317768567
I fucked up that post by mixing up what was canon before and retconned now..

T-60 Power Armour didn't exist pre-war before FO4, it does now.

Bombs dropped at 3AM in the morning in previous lore

Raiders cannot fix power armour, in previous lore, it was very, very technical equipment that required the best and brightest of the scribes to fix.

In FO4, X01 pre war Power Armour exists when it was created on the oil rig in FO2.

FO4 terminal has a message on a terminal from a US General telling the people not to worry the US isn't at war with China moments before the bombs go off.

>you actually haven't even played the game. why do people desperately want to hate fallout 4 so much?

I've played it extensively, not my fault Bethesda doesn't give a fuck about the lore.
>>

This is established.

This is known.

Which is why it's spread across the world in the 200 years since it was created, right? And why you can't easily dissipate an entire villa filled with the shit on your own? It's an entirely contained issue by the end of DM, especially considering the only people who really know how to get the Casino are either dead or have no intention of ever returning.
>you even can intrude on one such tribe in LR
Those tribes are only ever a problem if the Legion actually wins, and at that point they wouldn't be tribals. they threaten the Mojave no more than the Legion does. You can stop the Legion, and do, in most endings. They're not in any way comparable to the threat Tunnelers pose.

>But if they get bored and decide "Fuck it, let's see how the Mojave does with Cazaclaws" there's no real stopping them peacefully.
Th ending slides for OWB go up to the 2800s, and they're never referenced going out and fucking up the world. Besides, you can kill them all and seal the place up for good. It's a nonissue.
